Generally we play arma vanilla, but some of us have tried the odd mod.

I haven't personally

As above we keep it vanilla, butone thing i think we should try though that sounds very cool (especially with the comms issues atm)

[h=2]Advanced Combat Radio Environment 2[/h]Like EVE, Arma is best played with friends. Arma provides in-game audio channels, but they're not very supportive of actual gameplay demands. There are two serious contenders for the radio crown, but ACRE 2 takes the cake. Even though it's still in beta, it sports an impressive list of features. There are the things you'd expect such as multiple types of radios, frequencies, terrain and distance distortion, and more. It also includes some new features, such as a speaker function, allowing people around the radio to hear transmissions, or the ability to use your vehicle's radio as a loudspeaker.
Having a radio mod will redefine how you play Arma. Command units can converse on separate frequencies, squads can have their own frequencies, and support units such as Close Air Support flying overhead can remain on their own individual long-range frequencies allowing everyone to talk to whom they need without the audio clutter.

listed here is the 5 mods that are considered the best at the moment. Im not saying they should be on at all times, but maybe have them for one of nights (say on a wednesday) when we ant to try something differant. And defo keep vanilla for sunday night

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

We tried this before with Arma 2 OA and it destroyed one persons install was a nightmare on the server and when we did manage to get it to work it was not that impressive. I will look at this but we only have the one server and we cant just keep turning them on and off.

The mods when they work are great but most of us have spent hours helping each other trying to get them to work.  And on a offical or non offical night it will add to the setting up time which means less playing time.

But I will look and discuss with the admins see what comes out of that.

ACRE is amazing, but it's tricky to set up and I don't fancy spending an entire evening getting it working on everyone's A3.

this is a personal favourite and adds a more realsitic recoil when rested and yes it has a BI key

I bought Arma 3 in the winter sale for £17.99. I've never played Arma before and I had been waiting for it to hit that price for a while. I don't think it is the first time it had been on sale at that price but I had missed it the other times. It's a real shame I didn't buy it earlier as it has gone straight to the best game I've ever played. Seriously. I'm too old these days to play the faster paced arcade twitchy shooters like COD on small maps. The pace of Arma suits me much better.

My reason for posting here is that I've been playing a fair bit of Wasteland. There is no actual mod to install you just search for the servers in the filter. I keep meaning to try Battle Royale which was mentioned in the OP.

I'm a bit late to this party but better late than never.

Hey ReddFour - glad to hear you like the game. Why not join us for our weekly game on Sunday night?

Much frolics and dieing to be had!

Mainly dieing.

I really would but it has been decided this week after much conversation with my wife that the PC is being relegated to our spare bedroom. That means that if I play in the evening I have to be real quiet in there so only headphones and no mic allowed. The only time I could use a mic in there would be daytime and I don't tend to get on during the day. I don't think there would be much point playing a tactical game without comms so wouldn't want to spoil your fun. It's a shame but the house is being re-arranged a bit and the PC has lost out in this :(

Earplugs and some egg-boxes on the wall perhaps? :D
