I sold my 10 yr old BMW 525i sport for £1250 when I left the UK last year! Almost perfect condition, can I buy a Javelin and say I upscaled to a massive virtual space ship?

IS there sufficient interest for org funding a javelin?

Who would be in?

It might not even be on sale.

Depends on its price I guess.  If it is silly price then it might be a nice goal to find or construct in game.  If it i lower priced them perhaps a group could fund one, but we're still left not knowing how group owned assets will work.

I think if we genuinely think we'd use one, I'd try and get one to be honest.

Say it costs $2000.

We have 50 members on the fleet tool.

If everyone donates 25.51 GBP we have our org ship.  If less donate, then the 25 pounds goes up; considering a meal + drinks at pizza hut is what, 20 pounds at least?

Let's see what happens with which ships go on sale and then how much they charge.  It's not just the price of the Javelin either, some members may want to put that £25 towards a different ship or nothing at all.

I imagine this would be the outcome if we owned a large ship and manned it with a bunch of Scots : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJA5pFpRQxY

I have to agree. On its own is not a large amount amount but it would need a team effort.

The other thing to remember is that the Javelin might be large, but it is not going to be the largest thing in the 'verse, not by a long way.   Take a peelk at some of the Vanduul ships for example (and each race has their own 'larger' ships).

Interesting aside: The Void was seen in AtV episode 21.

It sounds like it needs one hopelessly reckless spender to step in.

Well, it's up!

$2,500 for a civilian Javelin (basically, no armaments)...

hmmm...

Small print:

Finally, we’re ending the process with a much-awaited concept sale! On November 28th, we will launch the Anvil Carrack explorer concept sale. The Carrack will be available for $345, with LTI and the standard concept sale bonus features (in-game ship model and poster.)

Well, I can't get it. I'm away at a trade show when it's released. I think I would have chosen my Idris over it anyway.

TeaLeaf

There are bigger ships in the 'verse, I'll wait to find one or save for one.  Javelin sounds great, but the Carrack sounds like more immediate fun!

It really does! Carrack comes with med bay, ability to install "cap ship systems", four decks, a small launch (like the reclaimer) roughly twice the size of a connie... the only sore point is the price, but it sounds like it's going to be a lot of ship for the cash.

Incidentally, what do you think they mean by "cap ship systems"?  They've stated it will be low on combat power (although high on survivability), so I don't think that means weapons.  I think it means stuff like engineering stations, etc.
