Are you applying for a Raider position, or Social membership?
Raider.
Tell us a bit about yourself! Who are you? Where are you from? How old are you? What kind of work do you do?
Right well I'm from the UK, down in Kent. Im 27, work for the Kent Messenger and freelance wildlife journalist. Prefer to get to know people than write down my info though so that's all you get.
Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
Again this is something I'd rather share with experience. I'm a patient guy, well mannered but can be a little blunt with my language at times. Not much else to say here. I enjoy wow for many reasons, mainly the min maxing and progression. Kinda lost the strong urge for the social side as I got older, but I still enjoy it.
How long have you been playing computer games and what kind?
Been playing consoles since the old Ps1. had pretty much everything, PC when I was 12~. Mainly enjoy RPGs, story driven games and MMOs.
There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
I was looking around and someone from your guild approached me. Thought I'd have a look and see what's on offer. probably going to ask a couple of my own questions at the bottom. ;)
What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on?
I haven't played wow since Wrath. I was in a guild called Disbanded on Haomarush for most of my raiding time, doing heroic Ulduar and Lich King. Didn't continue after that due to work and life.
Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them?
HazelHeals asked me to have a look. I personally don't know anyone sorry.
Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them?
Of course, I don't see a problem with the more controlled timeframes and expectations. It suits me just fine to have a more organised time where I can prepare and it gives me planning time and I don't have to feel so stressed to miss raiding days like some guilds who run 4-6 days a week.
What do you look for in a guild?
I want a guild that'll pull together, and keep an eye on weekly lockouts and content. I personally enjoy min maxing the content and a big part of that for me is clearing content weekly and pushing for the best possible gear I can get. Of course I don't expect Mythic clears in a week and such, but a good drive for clearing the game's content is a big role of why I'm even playing anymore.
Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?
Nope, just have my rogue and a 90 priest that I doubt I'll touch unless a healer is needed. (This was my main in Wrath/tbc.)
''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?
Too old to be playing games.
What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you?
As I said above my plans are to hopefully clear content each week, enjoy my time on vent and not feel like I shouldn't be playing games anymore. I'm hoping a good comfortable guild will give me that sense of community again, but not to a degree I feel online is going to mess with my real life demands.
Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
Spoon feeding everything. Oh and 600+ ore I can't use or sell :)
A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
Ignore it since it's just someone's opinion, someone online that doesn't interfere with my real life in the slightest. If it disrupts my enjoyment, i'll complain to GM. If a solution can't be found I can just leave. It's just a game for me. Never will be more.
Cake or Pie?
Pie. Steak pie.

ADDITIONAL questions for Raid Applicants:

Which evenings of the week are you available to raid?
Any as long as it's planned and after 5:30pm.
Can you and will you speak actively with other guild members on Teamspeak and in guild chat?
For sure.
Do you have a stable internet connection?
Yurp. Fiber. <3
What sort of frame rates do you get when raiding?
120 locked for monitor.
What kind of raiding experience do you have?
Cleared all vanilla as released, did the first wing of original Naxx. We gave up there. Wasn't for us at the time. :D All TBC+Wrath content on hard modes.
If you are a cross-server applicant, name someone from your home server that can vouch for you.
Er. xD I guess you can talk to Serena from Shadowsong. She's decent and will talk with you. :)
If your armory does not show your intended spec then please make a template of it and link it.
I'll leave it with Assassination for now. Sub is same gear and stats atm anyway so it doesn't matter.
Why did you decide to play this class?
Didn't wanna come back to the game and heal again. Fancied a change of pace and I always wanted to try RLS after so much painful memories playing RMP on my disc. Never played melee either so thought It would be a new experience for me.
What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
Abuse boss mechanics with ridiculous rogue abilities, like standing in fire and taking 0 damage from one shot mechanics. :D might kick some important stuff in raid rotation, maybe. If i'm in a good mood. Oh and vanish during wipes and die anyway. :D
Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)
I love Assassination. I really struggle with aoe so it's kinda pushing me to multi bleed and keep my dps up on trash compared to some other faceroll dps atm like hunters and Monks. I know Sub is stronger with the burst but I want to get to grips with the rogue basics like the survivability and energy control before switching to Sub. But 99% I will take Sub into raids, just can't afford to lose the on demand burst that it offers over Assassination. i don't enjoy combat and I think daggers are more..roguey. :D If there's a point in the expansion where combat is way ahead in dps due to patches, i'll switch ofc, but for now I'd say it's Sub/Assassination for me.

Right, well I guess that's it. I just would like to ask for the raid group's main focus, as I'm looking for a dedicated progression guild and I don't want to feel out of place. Mythic would likely be my main focus, but I doubt I know the rogue well enough to jump into a truely serious server first guild, so I'm not expecting wild "Mythic server first soon as content opens" attitude.

thanks for the read!

Regards,
Dave.

Thanks for taking the time to write the app. Give an officer a wisp when ya next online for an invite and feel free to pop into TS. Poke around the forums you may find we support other games that float your boat :)
