If anyone is stuck on the fringe of the Galaxy and can't find their Eagle, or is in a Sidewinder with zero jump range and wants help, just yell out on TS.

I am quite happy to fly to your location and dump a few 1,000CR of cargo on you so you can afford a FrameShift drive upgrade, after which I can escort you safely to the dMw home systems of LHS 3295 / Zeta Trianguli Australis.

Also, take the time (and a beverage of your choice) to watch the Elite: Dangerous Training videos  as well as having a go with the single-player combat training (from the launcher).

Thanks Arithon, I might take you up on that. Just downloaded the update so might try to get on this pm.

which it has

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Hi Sulks, Click update Launcher... ED hasn't got an auto Launcher update feature yet or didn't up to v1.0.0.0 release.

Edit, ok you're spot on, the thing is botched, grrr.

I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I've been playing for a few hours now. And I like it :)
I've been flying my sideinder all the time. But than I remembered I also have an eagle. Now I need to figure out what to do with the Eagle

The normal course of action is to sell the Eagle, having scanned every system and planet for a few jumps, and taken some low load missions, you should be able to get a Hauler, and do some larger missions and trading.

Of course you could just enjoy the Sidey and take your time acquiring credits, plenty of time to get into the game.

Looks like the latest patch reduces the amount of Rare Commodities available. Might need to sell my RC fitted Adder then and get a Cobra again. Oh well....

albert

It appears to stop others from eating up your share of rares. You can go to as many stations with rare commodities as you like and always be guaranteed something but not an over share of the goods. Most spawn 10 units every 10 minutes so you can make 650K every 45 mins if your organised.

Just had immense fun travelling down to Sorbago (spelling?) where the story is starting to unfold. I'm almost there, but had fun in my cobra killing pirates and haulers with bounties on their heads.
However, I do need to learn how to smuggle stolen goods into a station - pads are an easy out but I'm sure the good are cheaply sold!

The Onionhead situation on Galnet is also interesting.

The way I do it is arrive at station staying 9km out i then line up with the entrance and then throttle all the way up.  Then I request docking, once I get it a stay locked on and at around 2km I hit the boost button so I go through so quickly I dont get scanned then when clear of the portal. Revers thrusters and hit landing gear and clench!!!

That's what I tried, but I got the aim badly wrong and crashed into the station - didn't manage to get any pips to shields so went bada boom :(
