Hello guys,

A few days ago I spotted a cheap Piper PA-28 Cherokee 180 (Like the A2A version) in FSE. It was a system plane so it had no "in game" owner. It was also the only one in Europe. But it was located in the south of Germany so it was not close either. The price was v$30000 over what i currently had so I thought that I could not get it. Anyway a few days later I came over the plane again, and started to think if I could or should get it. Yesterday before the flyin, I was still 6000 short. I did the flyin, and checked again. Still for sale. But a cheaper one located in Brazil was gone.

I quickly checked my area for jobs. I had my leased C90 at ENAL (Ã...lesund) and a few miles away at ENML (Molde), was 6-7 people waiting to go to ENGM (Oslo). In Oslo I had another batch wanting to get to Molde. So I went for it. My first time-accellerated flight. Landing and Molde, stopping as fast as I could, start flight, full throttle. Take off, set AP, 16X, decend, land, start flight and the same back.

When I got to Molde I had 2600 more than needed for the plane so I went in and pressed "Buy". Removed the rent options and christened her LN-VZA (Vozards number one!)

I will fly her back via The Mosel valley, France, England and Scotland to Norway.
If anyone want to help I could lease it to Deadmen so everyone could help ferry it.
She is here: http://www.fseconomy.net:81/airport.jsp?icao=EDMK (not far from Innsbruck, LOWI)

I will keep it for a few weeks then advertise it for sale and swap it for something else.

From time to time I will post a some fiction history logs from my adventures on the journey back.
As I'm not a native English speaker, the word selection and grammar may be lacking. I try my best.

The first story will be posted shortly.

First look

I was very anxious to see the plane, and to see if it was as good as the previous owner said it would be.  I was of course afraid that the combination of low price and few hours since a complete overhaul, was a hoax. Kempten in Germany seemed so close when I decided to buy the plane, and to fly it back my self, but now, on the way there, I thought, how the hell am I going to get out of here! It is virtually down in The Alps!

After a two day journey by almost any transportation imaginable, I finally arrived in Kempten not far from the Bodensee between München in Germany and Zürich in Switzerland. The previous owner could not meet me due to his health. He was getting old and wanted younger people to enjoy his pride and joy. Younger me?, over fifty? Hah! He assured me that the keys where there, and all the paperwork would be in perfect order.  Of course I got even more anxious, I was beginning to think I was about to get screwed! And sure enough; the hangar at EDMK where I was supposed to find the plane, where more like a shed if you ask me. Nothing like the hangar I envisioned in my mind. But through the small window I could see that something was in there, so I rushed in trying to get a good look, checked her out as best I could. After a while I could not do anything but conclude that she was a gem. Sure, she looked a little bit shabby on the outside, the paint job was faded, but technically she looked like new. With an overhauled engine, new interior, upgraded instruments and panel, she was truly a gem. The only thing I found was that the left brake looked worn. But the only thing really missing was a GPS. Luckily I had brought my trusty old Garmin portable, so I was certain I would find my way home. Relieved, starving and very excited I headed over to the flying club cafe to get something to eat before I start my hopefully wonderful journey back home.

While waiting for my food I checked the bulletin boards to see if I could find someone that wanted a ride in my direction. I was desperate to get any help with the fuel bills the next couple of weeks. I was totally skinned because I was buying a plane I shouldn't be able to afford. But I still had a good feeling in my stomach.  Actually I felt great! An hour later I was finished eating, had my coffee, but still no passengers that wanted a ride. I had to go. As I was on my way out to the plane, I was approached by a local farmer that wanted me to take his tractors diesel pump to Zurich for repair. He was in a hurry, and he even had arranged that a friend of his was waiting on a farm strip not far from Zurich to take it in to town. He was willing to pay for fuel and my troubles. Great! I have financed my first leg of the journey.

To be continued...

EDKM - LSZU

I was running out of time, it was getting late, and the trip would take a while. I had to get the pump over to the hangar, packed an loaded up as soon as possible.

The weather was deteriorating, and beeing new to the plane and the area I had to be sure everythong would go smooth. I pulled the Cherokee out of the hangar, loaded the pump and started my walkaround.

Everything was ship shape so I climbed in to start up. Soon I was speeding down the runway and slowly climbing up over the South German landscape. I had set my coarse to a VOR not far from my destination. That would give me a straight course to stay on. I also tuned inn a VOR to the north so I could get triangulations along the way.

Soon I flew out over the Bodensee and the winds picked up. I had to adjust my course to not drift too far off target. The damn pump was stinking diesel and behind the seat I could see the cardboard box getting darker by the leaking diesel. I started to feel sick. Opening the vents to max to get some fresh air in. The clouds got denser and I started to worry If I could find the airfield. This was just a small airfield on top of a ridge so I had to see it to land there.

When I was a few miles out according to my gps, I could see the ridge through the clouds and started to plan my approach. I had to land from the south grazing the hill on final. Just as I turned my plane to taxi over to the buildings I saw a guy waving so I assumed this was the farmer that shoud take the pump for repair.

The farmers son took the pump and went to Zurich, while I was invited home to the farm for dinner. During a nice dinner with local beer and meat, I was offered to use the guest room for the night. Bonus!

I had a great flight up through The Mosel valley and I enjoyed the views. As a race fan I had to take a 360 passing Hockenheim ring.

But sadly I realized that I had bitten over to much here. So I advertized it for sale. And now it is gone. It is called EC-JP2 now.... :-)
Oh well. I got some nice profit.

Next project please!
