Loathed to post a link to a Facebook page but I thought this was kind of nice.

This is what happens when people do real science, as opposed to a load of homeopathic, aromatherapic, crystal healing, horse sh*t peddling nonsense that seems to litter the Internet.

If you can't face the Facebook then the original can be found (after an advert) here on Huffington Post

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

It is really amazing when science comes up with something like this that helps so many people and you can clearly see the joy in those peoples faces.
Maybe there\'s something to be said for being different. We are who we are. What more could we ask for?

My wife is an aromatherapist and I've seen her help a lady who couldn't drive or get out the bath alone through the sheer pain in her back and legs be able to now drive for hours pain free and get rid of her bath lift. So I vote +1 for the BS of the OP as opposed to the HS claimed.

Some stuff has proven, repeatable beneficial effects on human health and is called medicine. The science has been published, scrutinised and peer reviewed. Cochlear implants are based on real science and they have a real and positive effect on patients. Their efficacy is proven and undisputed and hundreds of thousands of people have had their lives changed for the better. It's real science.

Other stuff has not been proven, there is no real published material, no proper scientific research, no proven effect. It's not science or medicine.... yet. I'm sure there is plenty of stuff out there we don't yet understand. As we discover it, learn about it and work out what it does and why it does it then we'll continually add to what we know about the natural world and how we can use it for our benefit (science).

Aromatherapy as a complimentary therapy may well have beneficial effects and while no real research has been done there is evidence that it can help with stress, chronic pain relief, depression and nausea. Hopefully as we learn more about it's effect then it's benefits will be better understood. However as an alternative therapy i.e. it's use as a replacement for existing medical treatments it's unproven and dangerous. Some aromatherapist even promote it as an effective treatment for cancer! It was this kind of dangerous horse sh*t nonsense that I was referring to in the OP.

I'll just back out of this conversation now. It seems your tactic serves to offend rather than discuss with an open mind.
