How do you survive stuff as a wizard?
Tis a simple question. Jewelz said I don't have enough "toughness". I already have 6pc bonus and only the MH short of the "end game set". I but I get one shotted by adds on torment ..... V
I've used both the starter build and the firebird  archon build and both are equally useless, get tapped by and elite add and boom, my set bonus gives me an extra life but less than a second later tap #2 and stone dead.
I didn't have this problem on my templar or barbarian .... both different play styles granted, but i dont see any mobility on wizard to get out. i can teleport, but big whoop as  alot of adds just jump to you and blat, dead.

wizards are a ranged class mostly, unless u can get a explosive blast build set up, also look for things that improve your toughness, many things that improve it from the cube, see me when i'm online m8 i'll help u out.

anyone playing hardcore?

Will reply bit more re: wizards once get bit of time but wizards at end game are very much in close, stun, teleport, stun, build stacks, wait for last tick of ice +dmg on convention of elements and pop archon....Kill everything you can within 2 cycles of +fire dmg on convention......Rinse repeat.....

Exactly this. Basically my mistake was simply not teleporting enough and not spacing my stun between teleports.
And another 1M toughness helped as well from 2 new drops.
Still waiting on my final wand set piece to drop though as the build is currently gimped damage wise without it.
Hopefully it will drop for me soon ish ......

quickest way to get a wand you are after is make yellow wants at the forge and upgrade them in the cube:

This recipe allows a player to turn any level 70 Rare item into a random legendary or set item of the same type. Items purchased from vendors or gambled can be used, as well as found from drops. Best used on items that are expensive to gamble, like Amulets, or to hunt for specific legendary weapons, such as two-handed maces to attempt to create The Furnace.

And in reply to you main, no i don't think anyone in dmw plays in hardcore mode that i know of.
