spent a couple of hours over the weekend building an addon to my pc desk.. just a temp setup until i decide if i want to stick with it for good.  Will give it a few months i think see how my back/legs/feet etc fair.

Anyone else using one at all?

I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Slightly off topic. Is there an email subscription to dilbert. Love to get a daily email.

I get Dilbert via a Feedly RSS feed. Nice desk but I'm an old sit down and east pie while I work kind of guy. I also can't build stuff at all, two left hands.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

At work im in the process of getting my own desk that rises and lowers that way i can choose to stand up when im tired of sitting.

Gunda

yeah this is a trial run to see if i want to invest in a desk that can raise and lower.  I spend all day at work sitting down so figured it would do me good to stand in the evening when i game.

Leave the desk alone and dig a hole in the floor
Not for me tho ... I even had to invent a way to play the Wii from an armchair

Same here we all have people sitting on gym balls.

I tried the gym ball thing, and it didn't fly.  Sitting on it reduced its height by half.

Need one with much more pressure for my weight.  Any pointers?

Lose weight ;p. Seriously if you try and inflate one with your mouth so its high enough pressure to sit on you'll lose lbs in no time!

Our whole office has electrical desks for height adjustment. They're perfect for reacquainting ones ankle or knee with an old injury. Standing is not a good thing for hours on end. Go take a short walk and exercise your eyes as well to get rid of screen fatigue and sit up properly on a correctly adjusted chair with the desk at the right height and monitors at eye level.

I don't work in an office, but I swear by knee pads.
I'm sure that they will be of use in a sedentary environment.

On a serious note, I have a back injury which means that I have to change position fairly regularly, or I seize up, painfully.
My PC chair tips right back to an almost prone position and I find that this takes all the pressure off my spine.
I go sit in it a few times during the day just to get relief from standing or sitting.

Standing for long periods would not suit me, but I do advocate changing your position pretty often.

So knee pads to prevent carpet burns and a regular change of position right? [emoji41]

We got a pump with our gym ball and it can be used to pump it up quite hard to deal with people with denser bones.
