I got a lot out of it actually. I managed to workout how to add contacts and how to play with the controls using the xml file which has allowed me to emulate my Elite setup in SC. I spent ages doing that so only actually flew to test the flight controls. Now need to look at the targeting options and get them assigned to my preferred buttons.

Have you tried comparing mouse vs joystick?

I was quite successful playing with a mouse when I gave it a shot, and apparently mouse was better back then.  Has this changed?

I did in Elite and much preferred the joystick. The forums show that top guns prefer mouse + keybd but I'm not looking for a competitive advantage in dog-fighting.
