Ok, so Whitey spun up a 2012 R2 VM and we put it on its own IP with nothing but Windows firewall between it and the frothing inferno of the internet.   It seemed to work as I found the server in the browser, Dex found it in the browser, Ninja found it in the browser and a random public joined (which means they must have found it in the browser too).

Toby could not find it in the browser but could join by IP.   I do not know if this is a Toxikk 'random ordering' problem or if the server was genuinely not showing in the browser.  I know when I looked at the server browser, clicking on the top of the server name column did reorder the list, but it did not seem to be alphabetical so the listing order was seriously random and messed up.   So the server might not have been showing as Toby reported, but I reckon there also a possibility that the server was showing  but just not in any logical place and was therefore easily missed.

Next steps:
We can leave the VM running for the moment, but for a more permanent solution we've asked Gandalf to apply some of his firewall knowledge (it is his firewall after all!) to help us figure out what might be causing the problem.    In the long term we'd like the server back behind the hardware firewall, but at the moment it is sandboxed on its own VM and IP.

Thanks TL. Very excited by this news and step forward.

Wrt the visibility issue, I would ask those that couldn't see the server to check if they have any filters on. Also, make sure the server list refreshes and then sort by name.

Considering the small number of servers in Europe this could be a good thing for the community.

Anything I can do let me know. Other than that, thanks chaps for not giving up.
