I'm getting a new machine and can someone please tell me how I move steam over to the new computer without going through the complete installation process.

It can't be as easy as just copying the steam folder can it? I'm no techno-wizard but that seems just toooooo easy.

TIA

As far as I know you can't move an installed Steam to a new PC. You'll have to save the contents of the cstrike folder and re-install onto the new PC. Then just copy everything into the new cstrike folder and you should be OK. If you don't have a copy of the Steam Installer you'll have to
DOWNLOAD it again.  :(

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Zok

I installed completely fresh versions of steam on about 6 computers over Christmas (small drunken LAN) and was surprised by the relative ease. I used the download that is available from the dMw downloads page. If you have custom maps and or models these can be migrated with ease by just moving the relative folders. Good luck :D
