New ship explosion effects! Oh, wow!

This is a few excerpts from the recent ATV showing the new explosion effects system being develoed for the game.

The intention of this system is to not only give fantastic light shows, but also to leave debris behind that can be salvaged (currently when a ship explodes, the ship completely disappears).

Absolutely beautiful. I do like how they're replacing the asset rather than doing something too intensive. Very simple and easy trade too. The bit at the end when inside the tali. I like the fade out when you cop it.

Of course not! That's one of the first things I'm going to do. What's LTI for if it's not about flying an Idris into the sun?

That escalated quickly. We are suddenly a suicide cult. To be fair. I can imagine being inside it as it goes up and thinking "I shouldn't be standing here."
