To paraphrase the late Douglas Adams:

1 million... is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is...

We probably all saw the 'Letter from the Chairman' four days ago which detailed the 1,000,000th UEE Citizen, a chap called Edenstar, who backed the game and joined the Star Citizen community on 12th October as we were recovering from our post-LAN hangovers.  What we may not have realised is just how big 1,000,00 citizens is, for a game that is not yet even in Beta, particularly as we're stilling adding 20,000 or so per week to that number.

So, for comparison purposes, when World of Warcraft was first released it had about 1.5 million subscribers in the first quarter.   So having 1.02m citizens already is pretty damn amazing!

I wonder if it will have the same growth as WoW on launch?   That would leave us with 5-6m citizens within the first year.   I'm not sure we'll ever get that many, but one can hope......!
