Was a great session last night, really enjoyed myself so thanks very much. Shame you wasn't able to join us tho old bloke but hopefully next time we will see you in the sky's with us. First of sorry tut again I didn't meet to shoot you. It's was great to meet new people as well and Arthion thanks so much for answering all my questions and I learnt a lot from you like what I need to do next. Still not sure how to get rep up with Dmw but will find out soon hopefully

Ok. Well i am off exploring and won't be back for at least a month. I'm elite in combat and elite in exploring. If the policy is teamspeak then I will give it some thought to if i remain. I won't use it for talking and during the week I am unable to text at work.

The problems with creating longer-term goals is the organisation or alliance is non-existent in terms of the actual game. So for example, having a guild shipyard, or bank account, alliance goals and the likes are purely role play based and not part of the game. I'd have to ask for everyone to help create some challenges and goals that we can role play into the game, otherwise it's about trying to pick 2 or 3 aspects of the game and try and focus our efforts on achieving certain levels, ranks, power play rewards etc.

I'm open to suggestions because I agree we could do with more diversity.

It doesn't help that we have to all be in the same are of the galaxy. Setting days and times for meet ups helps people plan.

The missions in Elite 1.4 are pretty much about doing stuff in space or delivery/ collection missions. In Elite 2.0 they will also involve doing stuff on planets from battle to search and recovery.

I'm hoping some sort of Wing based missions come into the game. Today to do the same mission as a wing we all have to pick up the exact same mission off the bulletin board at the same time. We complete the mission as a wing and come back and all get the reward. Again I'll point out, it's easy to get split up in space and picking up missions like this are a tricky thing to synchronize.

Other groups hold races: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=138772 which are fun looking but I haven't participated.

Generally Elite is a sandbox with an ongoing story and economy where you dream up your own RPG and overlay it onto the game with some imagination. Ain't no linear missions to see here, move along, move along.

I guess I'm looking for something similar to what EVE provided - fighting for influence & resources across systems vs real players, that's where the real fun lies for me.

yeah cheers for that, got jumped by 2 elite ships that bracketed me, so i couldnt run...was down to no sheilds and 7% hull when you 2 turned up, funny thing is it was in normal space and I wasnt carrying anything in my hold...

There won't ever be guilds in Elite (i.e. group owned resources and assets) it's something that Frontier (David Braben in particular) is dead-set against. There will be continuing expansion of player interaction, but no "be in our guild or get out" scenarios.

1.5 will introduce chained (multi-stage) missions.

- Added new missions
                - Don't die missions
                - Don't get scanned missions
                - Multi-stage missions
                - Missions can be received in space
                - Assassination variants
                - Contact missions
                - Unique cargo missions - you have to deliver what you are given
                - Timed window missions
- Added new open space scenarios:
                - Search and rescue scenarios
                - Wrecked ships scenarios
                - New deep space salvage scenarios
                - Distress call scenarios
                - Alliance vip escort

Frontier have announced the release date for 1.5 "Ships" and Horizons as December 15th.
