Anyone able to cover the PACT summit for me tomorrow at 1300 UTC?   I have a family BBQ to host so will be enjoying the 45mph winds and heavy squally showers, so am unable to attend.

I'm not around. Sorry.

I've submitted apologies and suggested that nobody might be there to represent us at this meeting.    Missing one is fine, we're still in solid contact with PACT and there won't be any repercussions for not being at a meeting, so it's no harm if nobody is there.

Just seen this and must apologise, but I won't be able to attend either.

TeaLeaf

You have a birthday to recover from, no problem!

Ha! Lol - if only that were the case, but thanks. :)

TeaLeaf

Smilo, any chance you can attend this weekend's summit?    I'm buying my daughter lunch over at Oxford this weekend, so won't be around.

Sure if it happens I can be there. I might need a reminder about passwords and logins?

Details of the TS are on the PACT forum which you have access to and that's linked in the email you got today (iirc).

Thanks Smilo

Don't worry, it seems that I wasn't the only one struggling with the date, it got cancelled and move to 11th November at 1300 UTC

No need to mention this is confidential, but:

At the PACT Summit on Saturday we are interviewing BlackStar regarding their application to join PACT.  This follows BSI's successful application to PACT (yep, sorry I forgot to post anything on that one).

If you have any questions you would like put then please let me know.

QuoteMr. Tannhauser,
Please find attached Blackwatch's answers to PACT's questions. I enjoyed cracking a beer on a Friday evening and drafting a reply. We would happily answer any more questions PACT has or clarify any answer submitted today. Thank you.

In full disclosure, the founding members of Blackwatch were all in SUN as fighter pilots and capital captain. We joined SUN shortly before a tumultuous period in SUN's history. I witnessed the events that led to your current position- you handled it well; a steady hand in the storm. The type of drama you had to deal was pretty intense! We have high respect for what SUN has built and hope to fight alongside you in the future. We love SUN's commitment to fleet gameplay and training. The only reason we left SUN was due to the rigid formation of ranks and the perceived inability to play a fighter pilot one night and then a Marine the next.

Have a great weekend,
Marley
QuoteGeneral Information:
Q. When was your organization founded?
A. September 22 2015

Q. How many members do you currently have?
A. 41

Q. What is your primary focus as an organization?
A. Capital Fleet gameplay

Q. What are your long-term goals as an organization?
A. Our goal is to create one strike fleet in USTZ. To engage in anti-pirate PVP and Vanduul PVE activities. To have an active and engaged 75 member organization.

Q. Are you active in games other than Star Citizen?
A. No

Philosophy and Policies:

Q. What is your policy on multiple accounts/alternate characters?
A. We currently do not have any written policy. We are not against forming one, we just have not come across a reason yet to do so. Currently if our member has a second account, that alt is owning a small family/friend org.

Q. What is your policy on membership? I.e. are your members allowed to have dual memberships with other organizations?
A. We ask all members to make Blackwatch their main org and to be visible. We allow our members to be in small family/friend orgs and large social orgs as affiliates. Members can not be in any org that does not align with Blackwatch’s interest, so no pirate affiliations. We try to audit our member base affiliations once a quarter.

To further expand on our membership policy, we are looking for active members. We have no desire to inflate our member numbers with players that do not actively participate in org events. We have stayed around 40 members for the past year, because we have removed inactive members when a new active member joins. Our current members have actively participated in an org event in game, been on TS3 and play Star Citizen. We recognize this concept will push our org member count down, but we are not looking to have 100’s of members - we are looking for 75 highly active members to form a tight-knit community.

Q. What is your policy on "military intelligence", and how does your organization define that
term?
A. We do not have any written policy on military intelligence. Many of our members are current and retired military, so collectively we know levels and process of intelligence. I’m not sure how to answer this question; I’ll try to elaborate our org’s thoughts on intel and its application in Star Citizen.

The goal of intel for Blackwatch is target acquisition and system information- what are the landmarks and special conditions of the space environment around us. We want to find and destroy targets. We will actively be searching for targets in game with all means available. We would use open source intel if we came across it. We would consider information from allies. We have no desire to plant alt characters in other orgs to spy on them- that does not sit well with us. We are not interested in using adverse information to politically leverage another org. We are only looking for good fights and memorable battles.

Interest in PACT:

Q. How did you learn of PACT?
A. PACT has been on our radar since forming Blackwatch. It was apparent our gameplay interests aligned.

Q. Why are you interested in PACT membership?
A. PACT currently has significant projection of power, we would like to participate in the epic battles groups like PACT will be involved in. Secondary, by the design of how we structured Blackwatch, we recognize we will get more gameplay for our members by being part of an alliance. Since we are combat focused, we want our members to have the ability to join other types of gameplay if available within the alliance. We think this would keep our members happy and active; allow them to scratch that itch of mining or exploration when it happens without needing to leave Blackwatch to scratch it.

We recently left an alliance...We joined Star Alliance about 1.5 years ago after being approached by friends at Black Star Initiative. Blackwatch and BSI were the only consistent attendees at monthly meetings, so when BSI left, it was clear the alliance was on its last legs. We left Star Alliance 4 months after BSI left and Star Alliance now appears to have closed its discord with little signs of life. Over the past months, Blackwatch has looked for another alliance to join and PACT clearly has the closest alignment to our gameplay interests.

Q. What do you hope to gain through PACT membership?
A. Allies. Access to more Star Citizen gameplay. Security through added numbers.

Q. What would PACT gain through your membership?
A. A loyal and dependable ally. One highly effective Capital Fleet operating in the USTZ that is actively looking for PVP.
