I mentioned last night rates and settings for CS:GO and if making any adjustments made any difference with this version.
Pesteh tried to help but from the comments it no longer makes a difference.

The reason i ask is i can't hit bugger all anymore, it may be that my reactions have slowed or my aim is crap but 9 times out of 10 i'm dead before i even see anyone.

I have vert sync on to avoid tearing so i get a constant 60fps, my ping is around 30 but i'm also experiencing lagg.

Any suggestions or should i just get some comfy slippers and a pipe :P

uni

rate 128000
cl_updaterate 128
cl_cmdrate 128

fps_max 200

turn vsync off along with AA/FXA
Graphic settings on low
no mouse accel
I play with a low sens but this is personal

cl_crosshairsize 3
cl_crosshairgap -3
cl_crosshaircolor_red

net_graph 1 to look at ping/server latency. Lag is hard to tell on Boomer because that server can turn garbage pretty quickly

pesteh was saying rates are tied to fps in some way, capping to 60 and having those rates will probably make little difference, so turn it off anyway.

from what i recall, if you've less than 128fps on a 128tick server you're gonna have a bad time.

also, you realllly don't want to be using vsync, it'll only add to your latency (this is also true for fullscreen borderless window mode). Drop vsync, and reduce settings to get as close to 128fps as you can.

here's a post from steam forums regarding rates.

rate 80000
cl_cmdrate 64
cl_updaterate 64
cl_interp_ratio 2
cl_interp 0
fps_max 300

The majority of players should stick with these.

And You can still play on TR128 servers with cmd/updaterate 64 as long as no idiotic admin forces 128 on every player (not to speak about those who force maxrate 30000 *uberfacepalm*).

Only people who can achieve constantly more then 128fps should go on and raise their cmd/updaterate to 128.

And only people with a good connection, who play on stable running servers (mostly Matchservers, not those Plugin overloaded Publics) can think about lowering cl_interp_ratio to 1.

Also set the updaterate equal to Your cmdrate and everything will be fine.

I'm pretty certain we do not force rates on our servers.
