I missed buying tickets for A&B at Royal Albert Hall, but they've just added two new dates in London at St Johns at Hackney.  They're a tour de force in the EDM world and I love a load of their music, so I've grabbed a couple of tickets for 'Above & Beyond Acoustic' on Thursday 28th April.   If anyone else is going along then give me a shout and perhaps we can organise to meet up for a drink or meal beforehand.

I quite like the acoustic stuff ... what I found on spotify was clubbing music ... I assume this tour is acoustic only given the title? ... might be interested if tickets are not too horribly expensive? :flirty:

They were £37 each, quite reasonable.   And yes, this is the acoustic only stuff.  Let us know if you want to meet up with me and missus beforehand if you get tickets.

This is the 2014 version:

2014 Album on Spotify, Titled Acoustic is definitely not clubbing music. It's probably too far towards classic ambient for me and the wife. We listened through it last night and found it ok. The dance music is more interesting, their regular live releases remind me of http://www.thebays.com/live.html The Bays who only ever played live and recorded and gave away their performances. Very cool dance music. They are split now but check this in any other browser than Chrome:

I might look into the dance club gig Above and Beyond are doing in Amsterdam later this year, thanks for the tip TL.

Check out their weekly podcast too if (like me) you like that kind of music:   'Above & Beyond Group Therapy' - it's a weekly download & listen for me and I've got the full back catalogue (all 177 of them) and all 450 of the preceding Trance Around the World podcast series!  I keep dipping in and out of them depending on the time period I want to listen to!

Listening to The Bays now.  Thanks!

The Bays used to have dozens of gigs on that website but I'm not sure where their music went when they split. I have a few downloaded from several years ago, I can look them out.

Was at this gig last night and it was brilliant - and the venue had fantastic acoustics.   Was sat on a wooden church bench on the mezzanine level about 10 yards in front of the stage, so I had a great view.   Room was big enough to get a great atmosphere, small enough to feel intimate.   They had all their major vocalists there and did a set which lasted just under 2 hours including encores.

Even better, I drove down to London and managed to park in the grounds of the Church venue, about 20 yards from the entrance!

Very highly recommended

Ideal gig by the sounds of things! Found a band I was interested in playing at tiny venue called Maze in Berlin this weekend, 10 mins from our hotel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJKCorv713s amazing wee gig to have found. We loved it.
