Help an ARMA idiot?

Hi all,

I've had ARMA 3 installed for a long time but have never tried to play multiplayer.

Just tried to have a go but couldn't get on the server, in fact, it would seem I pretty much can't join any server as they all run add ons I don't have. Can they all be added through steam subscriptions in the workshop?

Got this message; 'You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependant on downloadable content that has been deleted.exile_client, esseker, Ryanzombies, ryanzombiesfunctions'  

I tried googling it, but it went over my head a bit about editing .rpk files or something? I'm guessing exile_client onwards are the mods I need but not sure how to get them.

Is there a sticky on installing mods etc somewhere or could someone let me know how to go about it?

Yeah your problem is your trying to join servers with mods, there are a few game types you can play where you won't need mods there are king of the hill , jsoc ( this is where you meet the die hard fans that run proper missions ) and wastelands shouldn't need any modes either. Any of these game modes you should be able to play unless it says you need mods and it will say by having a box on the bottom right of the screen should say what mods are needed if there is a red one in there with a red circle next to it then you won't be able to play it

If you want to try multiplayer we are playing Arma tonight from 7-10 roughly we can run you through it all ?

Hello hypR and welcome to the Arma section.

As you say, the issues you are having are all mod addons related.  To play on our server you don't need any addons at all so if you would like to jump on with us you shouldn't have any trouble and it would be great to see you.

There are some addons we allow to enhance the game play experience. I'll be happy to talk you through it on TS.  As Rogue says, we play Sunday evenings but if you'd like to jump on another evening just drop me a PM and we'll get something sorted.

You can find me most day on ad hoc gaming and we are normally playing Arma on there. We are trying out some new mods which are like conquer the map sort of mods and having blast on there if you want to join you can and if you join ts we can help you out aswell with any issues
