Just came across this and found it intriguing, and it just happens to be downright crazy enough to actually become a real thing!

Had to be a Russian idea.

Yeah, I guess, but to be fair, there's a lot of interesting space-related developments going on right now:
  • The Chinese are planning a permanent base on the moon.
  • SpaceX are developing reusable spaceships.
  • Elon Musk has announced his intention to found a permanent colony on Mars (using said reusable spaceships).
  • ISEC are pushin forward with plans to build the first space elevator (perhaps greatly reducing the cost and effort to get those spaceships built/loaded/refuelled).

If all of the above efforts could be combined somehow, it could be the start of humanity's next great chapter.

Having some sort of internationally-recognised status for all of those involved in these projects seems like a natural step in these things as we push into the unknown.  For those who have read The Expanse, perhaps Asgardians could be the forebears of the 'belters'!

This all has me rather excited!

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Interesting that their 100,000 goal has a counter that stops at  99,999.   :roflmao:

My favourite page is the map.

It has no 'new' information on it.  It's a world map, which tells you country names.  No information on number of citizens, etc.  It's just a map of the world, for no reason at all.

Obsydian

Didn't see that before.  I can't find a link to it on any of the other pages, so how did you get to it?  Perhaps this is an up-coming feature?

That's weird.  Maybe it was removed?  I would have removed it if I were them.
