Architect and other 3d-designer-modeller suitable job markets?

Does anyone have any ideas about, and/or contacts in markets that might have roles that would suit someone with a degree and many years experience in architecture in various corners of the world, who is pretty adept at designing and building some pretty out there 3d models and suchlike. My dad reckons that although this guy is still an architect by trade, he is possibly possibly a bit too wild for standard uk market, and wondered if he might better suit the gaming industry...

I expect that would be a yes, as he would be well versed in at least one of the Autodesk/Autocad/Etc 3d modelling tools, and I think was doing a lot of interiors work for his architecture firm, so creating accurate 3d models should be pretty standard?

That's real impressive.   It's not my area of expertise, but he should defintely be offered a good job somewhere because as well as his modelling skills he has excellent taste in music!  Go Deadmau5/Kaskade!

BIM is a sort of 3D drawing method but it's more basic 3D.
With BIM all the various drawings from architect, builder, installations, roofing etc. are all put in to 1 drawing.

If he's used to the more advanced stuff then BIM is easy peasy...

I only ask as given the UK law changed in April (delayed back to Jan next year) then you need BIM to get specified on any public sector job.

1000's of companies have yet to do their BIM and need to and there's a desperate shortage of people creating the objects. There's a business there just waiting to happen.

I also know of an architect's practice looking to recruit an architect mid-career with an idea of succession.
