So I've only quite recently started to pay more attention to this issue, but found that it does actually make a HUGE difference. Specially if you can manage to get the whole team do it, but even if 4 or 5 of the team groups up, it's a huge difference from going in 1-2 at a time! Please group up and attack/defend as a team! :)

Fixed video and will move to our tips section..

I have been watching all of these 'Your Overwatch' videos and STRONGLY recommend others do. There is plenty to be learnt from them even if you already know your way around the game. They put the focus on the true mechanics of the game that hide behind the flashy heroes and gameplay, and if enough of us really listen and think about how we are playing, it could vastly improve our team game :)

I'll be honest Chaos, I disagree with your last statement (in the nicest way possible!) :D

I've watched a few of the video's and agree with alot of what is said - but understanding has less value if no-one actually implements the tips. In an ideal world, everyone who plays competitively in any team would know what to do and when and where, but realistically, people make snap decisions instinctively that may or may not be detrimental to the team effort.

I haven't really had the fortune to play much competitive with dMw yet, but could I make a radical suggestion? Select someone to be 'spokesperson' for a match and have them issue orders. Either an admin, or perhaps map dependant (Rein on an attack/defend etc) who will force people to group when necessary, can give out strategic requests (Soldier 76 and Lucio flank left, tank and healer take center etc) and generally be the cohesive member for a round.

I think once people get the hang of the group effort they'll naturally play that way more often - but I know I'm included - I tend to go crazy until things go wrong and someone in the team (Gunda :D) points out were all being d1cks and need to group up :D

How dare you. Banned for life.

For sure you're not wrong - implementing is just as important as understanding! But you simply have to know the mechanics / fine nuance of a game like Overwatch before you CAN implement it. I guess these videos are more of a, "Hey, you're playing like THIS, when you COULD be playing like THIS" sort of thing.. in that they are there to make people think individually about their own game, so that when we group up together it requires less of the 'spokesperson' role as you say. If everyone in a group has watched videos like these, perhaps they are more likely to make better decisions individually, that benefit the overall team, don't you think?

Going back to this spokesperson role as you put it, its an interesting point. I kinda think it happens naturally in a lot of our group games.. but maybe it needs to happen a bit more - I think we do this at the start of the game, trying to ask people to play certain things and so on, but perhaps it could happen more IN game. I don't think this is necessarily something that we need to structure though (as in, not sure it needs a specific person set with that role - I think it may be better to let it happen naturally), but really something any of us can be doing. Certainly the admins and myself are always looking for how to better our games and being more vocal is ALWAYS going to help! Communication is key, after all.

Again, I am hoping that talking about things like this on here, when read by the players, trickles down into the game and we think a bit more about what we are doing and make subtle but important improvements that way. Being more vocal is a good point, I will take it on board (I'll let you decide if thats a good thing coming from me personally :norty:).

Keen to hear any more thoughts / ideas, and if you do reckon we need to try out a structured 'spokesperson', a sort of 'group leader' then let's give it a go? I'm not sure myself, as above I reckon letting it happen naturally may be more conducive to bettering our game as a whole.. you have any more thoughts on it? Anyone else, too?
