Anyone heard of the tobii eye tracker for pc?
Looks like it works like track ir but tracks your eyes not just your head.

Since SC is 1st person I would expect this type of device to be more comfortable to use than a VR headset. FPS is not fun in a headset. But on the other hand space sims are amazing in a VR headset.
