Lately tactics from Ts on de_maps have almost exclusive been rush here or rush there. There is no need to rush anywhere with 5 minutes round time. Plan your strategy or outline it in the beginning of the round. If the freeze time runs out so be it. Rushing is one variant in the tactics not the only variant.

If you have the bomb try and make up some tactics beyond just rushing.

Use this forum section to discuss ideas on tactics for different maps.

I remember the match the other day on inferno, they kept near spawn untill 1.30 minutes to go, it freaked us all out because no one spotted a T. They would shoot from time to time tho. It was an effective tactic.

The response to a rush is usually to pull all the CT's to one site, so you need to make sure you see the bomb. Call a rush by all means, but also call that you'see' the bomb.

There are some crafty ways to get the bomb places aswell. On aztec, throw the bomb off the bridge, on piranesi you can throw the bomb off of the ramparts to the sundial. I'm sure there are more, it enables you to call two tactics and switch half way through.

Whilst on piranesi a few shots from the sundial site can keep the CT's guessing whilst the rest of the T's work through the middle to come in the back of the sundial site. Another thing worth noting is that a T sniping is often spotted as a distraction, so distract....then come storming through.

And dust and dust2 and inferno and..........

So that'll count fo all the maps.

And also when someone wants to throw a nade, don't block, I usually throw a nade, get abck behind a crate/wall and will get blocked so that you're exposed to the enemy and will get shot (after throwing the nade it takes a second untill you have your gun again). Time enough for the enemy to shoot you.

Does that mean he has to throw his fb whilst running backwards? Mmm, seems odd, but if you say so.

What are your thoughts on Plan B?

I sometimes notice that when the entire team mass rushes and happens to meet the other team head on, no one seems to say 'plan B, go the OTHER way'.  They instead hunker down and try to take on the odds head first.  I will back out of a situation and head to another area to regroup if I think it 1) can be done 2) won't end up in a major loss of the team and 3) especially if I think the majority of the opposition is heading to cover their teammates at 'plan A'.

If everyone follows suit, Plan B can effectively throw off the defending team as they are shifting to cover a spot that is being vacated by the enemy.

edit:  I am by no means an uber-CS player, but I make the most of what I can.   :dribble:

There is always a plan B. But that depends on the map and on the situation.

Like in dust2 the bomb can drop back and go the other way and will not be spotted by ct (to much ways and cover) But you have maps that ct's can see the bomb most of the time in a rush so if he drops back they can almost know that he is going a other way.

It is just what map you are playing and how you own team plays.
If you win almost every round by a rush then keep up doing that untill the enemy knows how to react on a rush.

I think the rest you can all fill in.

And smokes and nades are good to use aswell. Some people never use them, a smoke can be a nice distraction.
