Hey Guys and Gals,

I've been thinking about how we could improve the efficiency and amount of team play in PUBG. Over the past few months, I've been thinking and looking at how some people play and what items they decided to share out.

I've spoken to Sparko and we've mentioned maybe a list of what should be expected when in a squad game or even a duo. This could include division of ammo, medical supplies gear and maybe having a squad leader in each team.

I just wanted to know what you guys and gals thought about this and if you have any suggestions. I'm hoping that this would improve the chances of the teams winning some more and improving then enjoyment we have in this game.

Thanks all
Puff

I've also realized I put I'm instead of in on the title. Sorry haha.

Ha. This is good actually.

Mostly I'll so shout outs early game for gear, but as the game wears on I change tack.

While there shouldn't really be a squad leader as such, one tends to appear anyway. This isn't a bad thing especially if you're like me. I don't tend to stick or aim for a weapon, I tend to collect all ammo types and then pick a gun that the rest of the team don't have the ammo for. Tactically, it makes sense not to over specialise. I'll then shout out ammo regularly for all types to try and regulate. Scopes is where I struggle.

I'm not a sniper. I work better at closer ranges. I usually gear for a reflex scope or a X2 at most. Any. More than that tends to be wasted on me. I suppose what I'm getting at is that people tend to find a niche.

I like it and also reminding it is  team game and need to work together.   But a great idea good shout.

My main concern is that people sometimes gather up a large amount of medical supplies and just don't mention it to others. When it comes to a fire fight situation, if that person with the meds goes down  out of cover and the others need to heal up a little, they can't as they don't have the supplies to do so.

Another concern is the occasional lack of communication and teamwork. For example, where someone runs off by themselves without telling or asking  others if they are  a ready to move, which I have been guilty of myself once or twice, or shooting at other players when it is not necessary and others do not want to engage therefore leading to the whole group being engaged.

I wanted to address these ideas here and get others opinions and ideas before I make a post in the PUBG thread about it.

Oh I didn't realise this was in the admin area... I thought already public.

Go for it..  You're basically saying "can we play the dmw way please" lol.. which sometimes it hard to get into people's heads!

Arma had a sort of code of conduct didn't it, so I don't see why you can't make something similar for PUBG. It's basic stuff.. can be summed up as "work together".

The trick isn't in writing it but trying to actively encourage it in the groups... I have tried this repeatedly on Overwatch and it still quite often falls apart :ranting2: I just advise you split the admins up into different teams as best as you can and try hard to individually push people the right way.. asking what they have and if they can share it etc. Hopefully you nudge enough they start to do it themselves soon too!

I would go through the wording with Sparko and Sith the  stick it out there when you are all happy.

I think we just need to remind ppl this is a team game with a shared objective.  For the most part when i play ppl will share their stuff and also call out when they have an excess of something.  Like Gal i tend to pick everything up at the start of a game until i'm full and then call out what i don't need before i drop it.

Arma had rules and a designated leader, and you were supposed to follow that leader.  I don't think that is required here, maybe as others have said a gentle reminder of how dMw play. My biggest gripe (and this happen to me at least 3 or 4 times over the weekend) is when another team is spotted, they are a fair way off, we have a tactically good possition and someone shouts out that we should leave them alone or at least wait till they get closser, i reply good shout (as i just have a red dot).  Then 10 seconds later someone else in the team with their 8x opens up and we start taking hits from 3 other teams which have now been alerted to our presents.

So a little reminder would help i think.

Thanks for the input guys, after speaking with Cheese i originally advised posting up in here first to get other admins and GL's opinions first so im glad you have chipped in :)

I have said personally im a little reluctant to enforce the type of 'rules' that Arma has as i think its a little bit too regimented for PUBG however we do need to uphold the value's of dMw so Chaos has really hit the nail on the head with "can we play the dmw way please", so something does need posting up to remind people.

I suppose the majority of us play this way without even thinking as we are used to it having been here for several years and it comes as second nature.

Cheese, if you want to type something up go for it and i will go through the wording with you, or if you'd prefer i will type something up myself im fine either way mate but im happy for you to come up with something as it was you that raised it :) .  I just don't want it to come across too aggressive or assertive and put people off, if that makes sense.

Cheers guys

Its like I said, the most important part isn't what you write (as the players that cause the 'problems' tend to be the ones that don't come to the forums anyway!) but what you do in game. The absolute best way you can promote teamplay is to gently nudge players in that direction by having an admin or dMw-minded player in the teams saying the right things - asking about supplies, asking them to split them evenly, asking them not to shoot etc etc etc... yes it won't always work but the idea is with repeated nudging (in a hopefully subtle way) you can teach people it is better to play as a squad and eventually you don't have to nudge at all.

That doesn't mean don't write it down, absolutely go ahead and draft something up Puff, I think it is nice to have things like a code of conduct, per se... or else why do we use the forums at all... it just does not stop there!

Yeah, we can do that. When we are both on TS maybe we could jump to a separate channel and go through it together before anything is posted so that we are both happy with the wording and what is said.

Thanks to everyone else for their input on the matter.

Damn, this agreeing with Chaos is becoming a concern.
Stating something is "encouraged" rather than "you must" will always make for a more relaxed friendly experience. If someone dies and says they had 11 first aid kits when everyone else has none then its down to us to poke them gently (assuming one of us is in group) and ensure we check more often with that player in the near future. I am finding myself calling out med levels a lot more often. Same for ammo, pick it all up and sort it out when there are a few minutes of quiet.

Have had a few instances of deliberate team damage, just friends joking around, nothing malicious. If you want to joke around in a duo then its fine if you're both happy with it, just please don't do it in squads. If it does happen when I'm playing I will be asking for it to cease in a polite manner.
