Samsung LC27F390 27" curved monitor

A few weeks ago my monitor went bang. To be honest it had been threatening to quit on me for quite a while, so it wasn't a complete surprise when it completely failed to start. I wasn't in the market for a top tier all singing all dancing beast, maybe that will come at Xmas. I also needed a replacement fast as my trusty old Dell 24"is also on its last legs.

So after a hunt for online reviews I went and grabbed a Samsung 27" 1080p curved monitor. To be honest the only reason I went curved was because it's exactly the same price as the flat version and my local Argos had one in stock. I certainly didn't expect much for £189.99 but needed a monitor ASAP.

To be honest I'm actually very impressed with what I got. It's always going to be just a moderately priced HD screen but the picture is perfectly fine and the build quality decent. Apparently it is also the most curved monitor you can buy, which might be a good thing or not. I'm not sure. 1080p on a 27" screen is always going to be a compromise and occasionally I can see the pixels, normally with large black text on a white background. Photo editing and gaming are fine though.

Anyway if like me you ever need a cheap monitor that can be picked up from the high street as well as bought online, the Samsung is a perfectly acceptable.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.
