Hi all!

After having a go at Project Cars on Puff's old steering wheels at the LAN, I've had a itch for replicating the experience for myself!

I'm just trying to look around for some decent budget Force Feedback wheels, namely thr Logitech G27.

If anyone had any suggestions or had any spare ones lying around they'd be willing to sell on I would greatly appreciate it!

Cheers,

I only know my own ideas of other peoples ideas.

If you can get a G27 some where I would definitely recommend it.  They are pretty well built and have a nice set of features (900 degrees, 3 steel pedals and H shifter).

The highest area of failure/ fatigue with a second hand one to look out for would be:

The pedals: the pots get dirty (they are not very well protected from dust).  They can be fully cleaned.  It takes a bit of time. The older they are/ the more use they have had will decrease the period of time you need to take the pedals apart and clean them.  Another plus for the G27/25 is that they are quite user serviceable (if a little time consuming).

The cables that connect all the bits (wheel shifter USB etc) : These can get internal breaks in the wires that can make the wheel / shifter etc have intermittent problems. Not that easy to fix depending on where the weakness or fault is.

The buttons on the wheel can fail too after heavy use ( :) ) .
