Hi Commanders,

After several reviews over the last year of player numbers/ interest in the dMw community, I feel that the time has come to place the game on the "no longer float our boat shelf".

The combination of lack of engaging wing play, steep learning curve for new and repeat adopters and story that is largely community driven just is not attracting attention from our members.

As of the end of March the admin team will disband and the forum will go into the area for old and unsupported games.

I'd like to thank Arithon and Sneakytiger for their help in supporting the community, especially when introducing new players in the early days which took time, patience and somtimes self control. You guys have done a great job.

For anyone still interested, there is a group within Mobius that Arithon and Ranualf play in that I recommend for casual play. Also the Winters powerplay groups we support are always welcoming, perfect for open play and pvp lovers. I will continue to support them and also try and help the in-game dMw Alliance faction maintain order in ZTA.

If you would like a blast at wing missions tap me up.

Thanks all for the fun and support over the last 4 years!

Cheers,

Albert

Thanks Albert

You've done a cracking job leading this game and have successfully pulled it back from the brink several times but long-term it's not a runner. Thanks SO much for all the hard work and effort you've put into this game. :thumbsup2:

I can only echo what Pen has said above. Thanks, Bert :thumb:

Thanks for all your hard work and mate you have done it proud.  I did have fun when I managed to get on and thanks for all the help and support with teaching me how to play it.

What this rabble have said. Good work mate. Decision makes sense. That said, I'll hopefully hop on for some runs with you when I'm back! :D

Indeed, thanks for the effort Albert (and Arithon & Sneaky), all good things come to an end (or the 'no longer float our boat' forum section).

Thanks Albert and Arithon, I had the most fun while it lasted because of you guys.

Liberator

Like you say, the game is an enemy to itself when it comes to teamplay content and most community missions were just grinding. The game is still an excellent, engaging game and is by no means "dead", but didn't quite hit the mark with enough players on the co-op to remain "supported".

Albert is ever enthusiastic about whats coming up and drumming up interest with the material they gave.
Arithon was a great official ambassador for us and the game, he got dMw added as a faction.
And Sneaky helped newbies out as well as making us all cringe with his ill advised engagement in a high level combat zone, with his shiny new Anaconda armed with a pointy stick and no insurance money, it was memorable.

Still has a chance of resurrection if it gets those co-op elements sorted.

Invite open to all to try the new co-op missions mate.

And your retrospective is pretty much a true account.

I also recall Sulky taking a ship he should not havd into a hi-res.

Overall it was a 1000 hour+ kickstarter. Can't complain.

Yes, thanks for bringing this up. Arithon does deserve a special nod and thanks for this. It did make it really special having our own faction within the game.

Loads of great memories from this with you dudes, looking forward to the next great space adventure with you all!

Extremely disappointed to see this decision.

Federal Liberal COmmand is still a vibrant discord community.. for those who wish to still participate - either as FLC members or as DmW survivors.

Aquilifer

In what way does this affect the game or what does not 'support' mean in this case? Because dMw doesn't have to (or even can) keep a server for this, isn't the required effort rather small compared to many other. I hope it doesn't mean nobody plays this anymore.

I still play and I have done all my mission to dMw in ZTA as before.

Brantford

I believe that means they arent organizing anything formally to keep ED as a viable faction in-game

Extremely disappointing. As I keep saying.. if the community here would show up to FLC's Discord server.. you might re-kindle your love for the game.
