It's up and running! After a slight hiccough where the IDE cable had to be changed, it just(?) a matter of piling all the stuff back on. Thanks TL for your support in those trying times. First impressions are that it a rocket!  :D  :D  :D

I would like to offer my thanks to the various dMw guys that came forward with suggestions for curing my voice comms. Sn00ks and Smite were particularly helpful. Squ0nk, you were the only one who laughed! It turned out to be faulty speakers. Having ditched them all fell into place. Anyway, project over bar some nice cdplayer covers in aluminium. I'm just waiting for the wife to say "Is that a new computer?" "what, this old thing? Nah, I've had it ages!"
