unfortunatly i have just spent about £50 on one stick of 512ddr pc3200
which meens that i can stick in just over a gig of ram when i get paid next month

You can see the type of settings (timings & latency) for the RAM in BIOS.  This is also where you will see the FSB speed.

You can also see the memory/FSB speed when you boot up - it is one of the first things to come up on the screen under the name of the BIOS.  It will tell you how much memory and also the speed (usually in brackets).

133Mhz FSB = 266Mhz RAM = PC2100 RAM
166Mhz FSB = 333Mhz RAM = PC2700 RAM
200Mhz FSB = 400Mhz RAM = PC3200 RAM
