LAN Stuff - Racing Wheels?

Hi all,

We are trying to hunt down some racing wheels for a bit of fun at LAN 34. Between us admins we have precisely 0. :roflmao:

Do any members planning on attending the LAN have a racing wheel they would be prepared to bring? The event would be run by one of us, and we would do out best to make sure the gear stays safe and sound - but I do have to say that we can't guarantee this, and any kind soul lending us their gear would be doing so at their own peril :norty:. I'll note that as far as I know we have never had gear damaged by members, unless you count leaky air-con units and dodgy tables as members, of course :g:.

This isn't essential, so no worries if we can't get together the gear. To do it we really need 4 racing wheels. Give me a shout if you'd be up for it!

Just to confirm is this steering wheel and peddles or just a steering wheel ?

Probably just wheels? If we can get 4 of both then we would use both, but the wheels would do I think. Whatever we can sort out really!

I've got a Logitech MOMO wheel and pedals more than happy to bring that along if that helps you guys out?

I brought one to play the new Forza on and project cars so i am more then happy to bring that. Has wheel and peddles so what ever you are planning sounds like a fun laugh

I have a MOMO and Puff has G27 both with pedals which we normally bring along. While i wouldn't want mine getting broke i wouldn't be heart broken, it is getting on now. However, Puffs G27 is a different matter so i would insist on respectful use but i'm sure everyone would so ...... (but i just wanted to put that out there from the start).

How long will they be required for? Also, what game(s) are you planning to play with them? The MOMO being old can be a bit of a pig to set up with some games, i've even needed to go into game config files and edit them in the past for some titles.

One of us would be in charge (and with our faculties intact, I should add :norty:) so I don't foresee any problems with the gear, it just has to be mentioned. We will of course do everything to keep it safe and as you have said I am sure members will respect the tech.

We haven't set a game yet, as we wanted to check we could get the wheels first. If you've any particular suggestion for one that works well with the gear, then go for it! Ideally we want 4 copies of it, with LAN functionality, of course

But we can probably work around that a little if needs be.

Nfs4 worked well before but it is a age ago.

Not a bad shout. If there's anything more recent though that'd be sweet, but does depend on LAN support etc. Will look into N4S as our backup.

Not sure we're gonna have room for wheels and pedals. Looks like we're gonna have 4 of us in the car (including Nuka) so adding 3 sets of wheels and pedals to everything else will be too tight i think.

Damn. If Nuka wasn't the human equivalent of the Burj Khalifa, we wouldn't have a problem. I'm still not convinced he needs those legs.

Guys what do you think of NFS Hot Pursuit? Could be fun if it plays with the wheels?
