Thursday night is ‘dMw Customs’ Night

So... with the popularity of our recent custom games, dMw Thursday Chicken Dinners Night has now been replaced with Thursday Night dMw Customs (shoot your mate in the face) Night :D

If you have any requests for what we do on Thursdays please post here and we can discuss between us, there is literally no limit to what we can do. The only snag is we need 10 people to start a custom match.  Let’s dicsuss everything from circle timings to frying pan matches and we can go from there....

What are you playing so far? Duos would work really well with the smaller numbers, no? It could work. The only issue I could see is that there could be a whole 30 minutes without anyone seeing another team. We could have a play around with the zoning settings to see if we could change that but we'd need to do that next week. It's still hit and miss with the circles. Next week we can try a couple of solo games and a couple of duos and see what people prefer. I'll need to make a note of the settings for the LAN though in case presets don't save.

You could also decide on a certain area to drop over / avoid. Using only 1/2 the map, for example. Anyway, will leave it with you. Definitely getting teams together will be the challenge with only 20 or so players.

Should just be able to zone fromn the start - forcing squads into a smaller area (like the war modes)

I think it can be solved fairly simply, keep the time until the first zone starts to close fairly long to give people time to loot and get to the first zone, maybe slowing down the shrink, but make the first zone smaller. It'll bring everyone together nice and quickly.

You've probably already seen it (or something similar), but there are guides on the settings and probably even some configurations people have already used.

The issue with that is that the circle only apears at the end of the flight path once everyone has dropped. So we could decide on an area to drop and it could be out of the zone. I've had instances where I have dropped at one side of the map and the circle will apear and it'll be over the other side. I'll have a look at the settings to see if we can specify it but I'm not sure you can.

Only options you have really is for a static/dynamic circle (so can have a warmode style where circle is defined as smalledlr but will not move.... Or you have full map, and have the standard 1st circle time, then progressively quicker circles thereafter to force everyone closer, quicker.  As by having the standard initial circle, give all chance to loot up before engagements,. I'm about if need help testing at any time, just give me shout

You can set it so the first circle appears after 0 seconds, so assume it's there from the time the plane starts. Quicker circles isn't necessarily good as it means you can't fight your way in, but smaller circles would work with a slower closing time. Gives people a fighting chance if they have to travel further.

Plenty of options though.

I've also seen people set it so the circle appearing and closing the maximum, which means it doesn't really impact the game. Could select and area and then all fight before it becomes a problem.

I thought solo was perfectly fine, playing duos would split the teams into different channels and lose the banter and fun level of there being a group all just playing for fun.

Odd number... well ok one guy could go solo vs duos but that's a bit naff.

Could be yes, what did we have 4 or 5 games last Thursday, maybe start with a solo, progress to duos or 4s as people join discord? Just play it by ear, but also you could just do teams of 3 as it depends which number you drop onto in the lobby I assume?

Sounds good to me, solos first then some teams, my only gripe with duos is the the mess about with comms, it’s be much easier to get people into teams of 3 or 4
