Will be on tonight from about 7-7:30ish.  Have got some new scripting to test out tonight.

If you've been on in the last few weeks you'll know i've been getting quite a lot of crashes and when we had the RHS mods enabled i kept getting a 'Session Lost' error and couldn't reconnect at all, and other kept getting kicked.  After a fair bit of research and testing i believe one of the possible causes for this is the revive scripting we use.  INS Revive (a package of scripts including many other functions not just revive) has been around now for a long time and has served us very well but the game has moved on.  The last time the scripts were officially updated was back in 2014 and since then the game has had many updates, changes to the wounding system and the addition of things Zeus.  I don't think the script handles a player death well anymore, particularly when i'm using Zeus at the time.

So to that end we're gonna try a different revive system.  As with INS Revive i've had to adapt some of the code to get it to work as we would like.  One big difference with the new system is it relies more on the inbuilt vanilla respawn system rather then a scripted one.  The wounding system, while still scripted is much closer to the vanilla system so i'm hoping that will help too.

INS Revive also included the ammo/weapons box system so we'll now also use the vanilla inbuilt Virtual Arsenal system.

Another reason i found for the Session Lost error (and possibly all the kicks) are issues with the anti cheat system which i believe were caused by the revive scripting. In case anyone else needs the fix it's very simple.
  • In your Steam Library right click on Arma 3
  • Select Properties at the bottom of the list
  • Click on the LOCAL FILES tab
  • Click on BROWSE LOCAL FILES...
  • Explorer window will open
  • Open the BattlEye folder and delete all of its contents.  Close the window.
  • Back in the Arma 3 properties window click on VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES...
This will reinstall the required files.

We will see if this helps with stability tonight.
