I know it's cruel, but as a child I had an inexplicable desire to punch Geoffrey Hayes is the face repeatedly. Mainly due to his relentless bloody cheeriness. He annoyed me so much.

It's me, not him, I know that. He brought happiness to millions of children but he still wound my up completely. Like Jimmy Carr does to everyone... but worse.

The other children's TV personality I loathed was this character

but that was mainly due to him being quite possibly the most terrifying TV creation ever and giving me endless nightmares.
