Black-Adder - First Test Drive Results

Well, all those at the LAN got to see Black-Adder as Stryker & DogMeat brought it with them (thanks guys!).  Those of you who didn't go and are now feeling jealous will have to wait for the pictures to be uploaded by the -=[dMw]=- PhotoRecon expert, Oldbloke  

18 people attended the LAN: MisterEggs, DogMeat, me, OldBloke, Frenzy, Tutonic, Sheepy, Rad_Man, LionHeart, Gandalf, SecretSquirrel, JB (Urang Utang), MAD_Ness, Smite, JAS, Stryker, FATAL and the king of all roadies, FatBob (who is neither Fat nor Bob).

All 18 played CS on Black-Adder.  Want to know how hot & bothered the server got trying to run a complicated map for 18 people?  According to our resident techie, Stryker, the game  hardly registered on the server load graph     Now that is great news for us when it gets installed.  Zero server-sourced lag spikes were encountered during what was at times a frenetic test-drive.  Black-Adder didn't just pass the test, it walked it     But that's what you get with a 2GHz CPU and 1GB fast RAM I guess!

Stryker & DogMeat will be making the trip to the cold and windy North, only a few miles from the North pole, to install the server next weekend, OK OK, so they're going to Manchester, but in any case, thanks for making the trip guys.  The last couple of months have been real frustrating trying to get Black-Adder working, so it will be real nice to finally see it installed and providing the best quality home to PCS in the world.
