Dr Sadako

OK, this thread will provide a packing list so that you remember to bring everything you should bring to the LAN!  If you have something to add to the list then please post it here and I will edit it into the main list.

Hardware:
PC - Virus & Trojan Free!
Monitor & VGA/DVI cable
Keyboard with cable
Mouse with cable
Mouse Mats
Power cables for PC, monitor etc
Panel plug (so that you can plug all of your electrics into the one panel).
Extension cable (just in case you end up 10m away from the nearest plug.
Joystick/Steering wheel
Lots of spare HDD space
Headphones (no you cannot bring your speakers - unless they are for sheepster's rugby experiment)

Software:
Driver software for any hardware that you bring (in case you need to reinstall).
OS software for those hard luck system crashes followed by format c:
Games software

Networking
Your PC must have a working NIC.
Ethernet cable (preferrably as long as you can get (10m would be great)

Miscellaneous
Duck tape - to keep those trailing cables from being triped on.
Hardware spares (if you have any then bring them just in case somebody else needs to swap out a CPU or HDD etc).
There is a licensed bar 10 yards from the gaming room.
There is a high street with shops, cash points etc 20 yards from the gaming room.

Do like Ron does do...........and bring a comfy chair, or a cushion. The seats can get a bit painful after several hours.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

We consider the experiment not finished yet. We still expect you to pull through any year now.  ;)

Yes please Benny.  If I recall they were 2 x Cisco 1924XL switches?

dMw will also provide 2 x 24 port Netgear switches and I may have access to another Cisco 1924XL as well (via tugs).

So all in all we should have plenty of ports for peeps to play with :D

Gandalf

I have a netgear 24 and a 16 port switch that can be brought if needed (or they may be d-link, can't remember). Let me know if you want them as well

The more switches the merrier as some peeps may wan to double up on the NICs like last time (not mentioning Stryker by name).

Will you be bringing the 4 mile roll of cable and plugs again G?

Stryker

I'll bring some cable plugs et all.

Also, did I leave all the cables I made up last time with you tealeaf?
-=[dMw]=-Stryker

TeaLeaf

I have a bunch of network cables from the last LAN which I will be bringing down with me.  Oldie also has the huge power extension so that we can wire you up to sit in the car park Stryker.  It's about 200yds long and I reckon that's *just* about far enough to keep your noxious fumes at bay :D  Sunday morning should be the worst time what with your consumption and reconsumption of a chinese meal, beer, hangover and a fried breakfast    :lmfao:

Btw Doggers, what precautions are you taking if you are travelling down to the LAN with Stryker?  I reckon a Level 3 Biohazard Containment Field should just about handle it  :narnar:
