Yes Sadako but what makes it any different bar nice graphics?

Being serious here (not one of my inane p1ss takes), cause all I can gather from reviews is that you run around a lovely-looking island shooting mercenaries with some vague plot about a woman and a madman.  Stop me if I'm wrong.....
You are not wrong, but on the other hand nothing much have happened in the frist person scene since UT. So yes you are completely right. There is nothing new but the graphics. If you like FPS though it is as mindless as the rest. ;)

I'd agree with that. If you like FPS buy it.
If you want to play online and will make it worth it, buy Vietnam.

One you'll complete and not play again (much), the other has the MP longevity, if you are so inclined.

For me CS is the only online game I play (bar globulos).

I like the body physics on far-cry. The plot is nothing special, but then when is it ever. It's fairly easy, if you like to play FPS's and want to enjoy a good looking one. Buy it.

Methinks I will subscribe to the BF:V camp, as it is rare that i spend more that £10 on software, so i want the most from it! :D Cheers for help all

True - I always like the FPS games with an edge or something different.

Max Payne - Slo-mo-tastic
AVP 1/2 - 3 species and a great film tie-in
UT (only the first one though) - great multiplayer deathmatch (plus the outstanding assault mode)
Halo - great AI and great vehicle-based multiplayer (interesting to see the vehicles on UT2004)
MOH (and later COD) - atmospheric WW2 shooter
CS - so different nothing has ever come close
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

Oh joy, another pretty FPS :(

Anything remotely special about this one to warrant £30?

I'm still waiting to get my copy from Play :(

So far that's UT2004 and FarCry where they have not been able to deliver by release date. Next time I shall use Amazon!

smite

This was my first problem with Play but i got mine last tuesday so cant complain too much :D

Anonymous

I just emailed play and they told me that it was going to be 2 weeks before they get it from their supplier. Guess who just cancelled their order and re-ordered from Amazon with delivery friday :D

Tutonic

No-one seems to be able to make FPS games that have a single player element that takes me more than a week to complete :(

Deus Ex and System Shock 2 had utterly emmense singleplayer modes, which took me bloody ages to complete, Not that other games since have been bad, just way too short :(

If it's any help Chimpy, CZ got 65% in PC Gamer and Far Cry got 91% and those scores seem to fairly representative of the two games merits. So imagine CZ and then think of something not too far short of twice as much fun and you have Far Cry.
Not really mate - most polished FPS get good scores (80+).  Just not my thing unless they got something different about them.

Agree with Albert  - Splinter Cell was good fun, and reminded me of the genius of the Thief series.  Sneak-Em-Ups rule  :)

So we'll all three be wetting pants at the thought of Theif 3   :dribble:

I don't get the bit about polished FPS? Both CZ and Far Cry are FPS. So it's not too hard to compare them. PC Gamer seems to rate games based on quality and not genre.

They consider the best two games ever made to be Vice City and Medieval War so I don't think FPS get preferential treatment.

Or am I missing your point?
