More Far Cry

I was going to write a full review, I'm that taken with this game.
So if there is any demand I will, but I assume those that are going to buy it already have. Those that haven't enjoy a nice piccie..

I absolutley don't have enough money to buy this game, so I still need convincing. If I'm going to be utterly utterly stupid with the cash that I don't even have, I need encouragement.

Also, if I do by the game then I can't upgrade my AMD 2100 XP to a AMD 3000ish. The question is do I need the AMD 3000ish to play the game (I also have a Radeon 9800SE)? If I do need the CPU upgrade, then there seems no point buying the game instead of the CPU cause I........I'm confused now

I installed it on my machine

XP2500+ Barton
512 MB PC3200
Ati 9800Pro

and it was defined as a "medium" powered machine. Had to play it in 1024x768 but it was still bloody amazing.

I'm running it with no probs on my 1700ish AMD, 9200 Radeon, 1/2 gig memory.

No slowdown, no problems.

Pretty doesn't sum this up, the water alone makes it worth it.
Little touches like when you are in the water, you actually swim. The perceptions of height and distance feel good.
The AI picks you out, trys to flank you, looks for cover etc.

Binoculars let you zoom in and listen to conversations.

Rocks can be used to throw distractions.

I'd go for far cry if you have a good computer. It is really advanced in graphics. HL2 will need to really show what is worth to beat this one.

Yes Sadako but what makes it any different bar nice graphics?

Being serious here (not one of my inane p1ss takes), cause all I can gather from reviews is that you run around a lovely-looking island shooting mercenaries with some vague plot about a woman and a madman.  Stop me if I'm wrong.....
