Dr Sadako

I personally think we need to find a few more maps to the rotation as it is a bit short at the moment. The latest changes to cobble I think would make it suitable to TCS. It is not a rush map anymore and those who played it in the match recently can vouch for it. It requires more teamplay from T now.

Also I think it would be good to have it in the rotation as we will probably play more matches on it.

Comments please.

Thanks,

I actually think the changes to this map now make it too hard for T.  We dominated in matches by leaving just one person at spawn site with everyone else going to the other site.  Can you imagine a full server with 8v8 going on?  I think it would be a horrible map for T as they would be obliterated with even moderate teamwork from CT.  I agree it does force the Ts to use more strategy, but the advantages given to CT by the changes more than wipe out those benefits imo.

I voted no for these reasons as I think we would very quickly become really racked off with the map if it was in the rotation.

I see your point ... but we won the second half as T 9-3. ;)

Ah well it was just a thought. :)

No for me. Pretty much agree with what TL said however, Sadako's point that we may see it in matches is valid and we need to think about that. I suppose there are 2 issues: The commmunity map cycle (and what is good for TCS) versus the need to practice maps we play matches on.

So, can we have different rotations on the match server ensuring that ALL of the maps we will play matches on are included and have a separate rotation on the 2 TCS servers - I'm sure we would agree that many maps that are good for TCS are not suited to match style and vice versa.

Thoughts?

we already play maps alot more unbalanced than cbble ......ie italy/office so its a yes from me  :D

Are we looking for a large map or a small map? Or to put it another way, how many peeps are we trying to cater for?

Dr Sadako

My idea was to add a 5-7 player per team map to the rotation and extend the rotation. Now we have 12 maps and that is a short rotation.

I;ve added a couple of maps to my server for people to have a look at:

cs_haste_final
cs_waterside

I have also setup http downloads so if you connect and haven't got the map you will get it downloaded automatically as per MH (PS I have set this up to come from another domain so that my server bandwidth doesn't get borked)

haste_final is prob a bit big and I haven't looked very much at waterside yet but it sure is pretty :D

OK Waterside has a LOT of possibilities  :dribble:

However, it is a large download for people and it may be faster to get it from the link below rather than from my BY webspace.
You can get the zip file here - look for the download link on the left of the page
