cs_intercept is defenitely interesting to see comments about, both here and on the server. Some say it is T biased some say it is CT biased and I say it is neither. I think it is very balanced.

The most important thing to remember as a T is to focus on the objective and not the kills.

Btw, TL I think the Ts should be allowed on the grass area behind the house, i.e. by the back stairs and the grenade breakable window in to the hostages. Makes it less confined and also makes the CT a bit more cautious.

You know, I was thinking the same thing....... I'll try to edit the PCS Rules page for the map......

Here's my feedback. Firstly I'll say that Sadako, myself and most of the WAS clan guys did quite a bit of testing on each of these maps and they all passed the PCS test with flying colours. In fact even the very difficult and frustrating Admin board of N42 eventually liked these ones, but not without us putting up a fight.

cs_intercept

I love it, it's as difficult to defend as it is to attack. 4 ways in, 5 ways out and a great deal of nice spots to snipe from. Less places to camp but there are more than enough if one takes the time to look around.
A lot of the map is basically CT exercise ground as Ts can only stay in or on their building, and very rarely will a T chase a CT with the hossies.

Biggest plus point... It is a rare CS map where the hossies can get rescued on a regular basis. Unlike assault or most of the standard cs maps.

de_bitterwine

The one with the chicken coop? (not sure) The advantage is with the CTs but there are enough choke points to attack so if the Ts stick together they can plant almost every time. Text book de map, nice places to camp and defend, good for mid range rifle play and sniping, even SG play if you can use the damn things.

Only annoying things are getting into the chicken coop to plant... and the fire at the top of the ladders from the sewers and the fact youare crouching coming out of the sewers so it is difficult to do a quick attack.

Still a great map and evenly balanced.

de_sampa

This is a nice big map, easier to attack than defend I think but I've not played it too much yet so opportunities to reverse that opinion may arise. I will edit this section once I get more familiar. Initial impressions are I like it a lot.

de_volare

I love this map, I know it well so had a distinct advantage at the start of last week and exploited it to the max. Plenty ways to attack but they are all choke points and are defendable. This map will come into it's own as people learn it more. Great for mid range rifle play, possible to attack quietly or rush and has nice PCS boundaries that make the map a challenge for both teams. Tip: always crouch and walk when falling out of the aeroplane as a CT to avoid damage!

cs_france

Like most of us other than maybe Smite and Oldie (found good T camping spots early) , I was not sure about this map as it was difficult to attack on. But then it all came together and it is obvious that the Ts have a tricky time ahead on this map. There aer plenty places for Ts to camp and the windows upstairs presenta a great opportunity to pick off a few noisey CTs as they run past.

Biggest mistake the Ts can make is only defending the upstairs as a rush up both stairways from the CTs will wipe the Ts out easily. There are two ways in on the botom floor and several windows upstairs that can be broken and used.

I really like this map now and both side are equally positioned to win plus it is another map where ths hossies can be rescued which can only be good.

cs_drugwar

What can I say, superb, but very difficult to get away with the hossies. Opportunity for full scale close combat in the house or a bit of AK or Colt sniping outside. I like playing on either team on this map, it's a nervy tense map when defending in the house and can be great fun trying to defend the roof and sides of the building.  Best T plan is to cover all the enterances from inside the house, that way the CTs get nervous and can get picked off one at a time. CTs must remember to open the front gates in order to escape quick with the hossies.

There you go, I like all six and think they are all good PCS maps.

I put on my feedback above that it is one of the few maps where CTs can rescue the hossie regularly, this is a good enough reason to keep it as most cs maps are just eliminate the opposition to win. I agree, a few extra places to defend from would make this map more acceptable to the masses. I think the CTs will happily rush carefree to the roof every time and if a T rushed up onto the roof it is a different story altogether. If the Ts could defend from the ground then the CTs job would be much trickier. But don't let the Ts climb the ladders at the back of the building, that would be giving away too much,

The biggest mistake CTs do on this map is that they guard the inside bombsite (not bus stop) from the inside. Sure there is a vent in the roof that accesses the bombsite, but when sitting in that room you make the entire right side of the map wide open. My suggestion is to just have 1-2 guys in that room and instead put more ppl on the right road and the subway entrance. If the CTs do not guard the road and the subway they make the bus stop bomb site accessible for the Ts through the CT spawn i.e. attack in the back on our bus stop guys.
Being outside the inner bombsite gives the CT the possibility to either guard or enter the vent, thus removing the vent threat.

For those of you who played cs_rio it is the same guy, Mataleone, who made this map. Sampa = San Paolo

I have noticed that the more we play the maps they get more even in the scores. E.g. on France the first night CT were 8 against 4 Ts and the Ts totally hammerd the CTs. Now the map plays more evenly. Same on Drugwar and Intercept. I like that the hossies are rescuable on all three maps. Drugwar is a bit harder I agree but they are easier to save than on say Siege or Assault. What I especially like about France and Intercept is that they are tense. You are constantly on edge and afraid that someone will sneak up on you. Equally scary for both teams.

The de maps are allowing more tactics and less choke point guarding. Last night on bitterwine the Ts pulled some great diversions on the CTs. I hope some of the maps enter the rotation.

So I guess we are back with the normal rotation?

Hmm... i wonder which potato head went down All the maps and voted yes for everyone?

Imho i think, yes thats in MY opinion only 2 or 3 deserve to be added to the rotation.

Mighty Cheese Event here  :D   I've been a Bucket before, thought I'd try something a little different

JB - I have no idea who voted for all of them, but they are allowed to do so if they want.

Remember, if all 6 play test maps get voted in then we will add them to the rotation.  It does NOT mean that 6 of the existing maps have to come off to compensate.   If we end up with a 24 map rotation it will be what we voted for.

Make your own minds up peeps and vote as you want!

Im having trouble with bitterwine i have it downloaded and in my map files but everytime i try to play it, it comes up with that one of the t's characters as being error and faulty i tried everything to try and resoulve it.
Ive tryed replacing the files the map the same happens. Has anyone else had similer things like this happen and any help would muchly be apriciated.

Sorry about the spelling dont critisise me about it too much.
(i know u will so dont rip it too much :(

other than this fault i think the rest of the maps are fine well chosen.

TeaLeaf

Sorry DA but I'm not sure I can help.  I can only suggest that you download a fresh copy of the files and then install that instead of the one saved on your HDD.  Failing that, a clean reinstall of CS is probably the next best things unless any bright spark here can come up with a resolution.

I often have the same problem of some file or other not being the same as the servers or faulty.  I have a different file come up each day I have a problem with it.  However i dont think it is the same cause as yours as mine only happens when cs crashes or when i exit a server and then try to join another or the same one. If i do eventually get back in then as some may have observed i then crash an indeterminate ammount of times.   A disk check fixes it some times, but not always thatday, but if i leave it to the following day 99% of the time it is fine.  :?

Sorry DA this is actually no help to you.  But thank you doctor i feel much better having got that off my chest.

Oh yeah this has not gone away after two reinstalls of cs and one reinstall of xp.  (with fresh downloads of cs and hl patches each time!!!)
