Feedback - My 2 cents:

The maps that I played on last night went OK but some are very heavily biased towards T - we'll need to be real careful on that.

We played cs_france and a 4 person T team held off and defeated a CT squad that gradually grew to 8 as I shuffled people across to even the sides! It was 8 CTs against 4 Ts for almost half of the rounds and the Ts still won.

cs_drugwar went down well, once peeps had learnt not to jump and put their heads into the whirling chopper blades , but again it's a map that has a slight T bias and generally needs more CTs than Ts.

cs_intercept was enjoyed and seemed to play in a reasonably balanced fashion.

While I was on the server I didn't get to play bitterwine, sampa or volare, but we already know that both bitterwine and volare play reasonably well.

I'll be interested to hear what people's views on sampa are though - it's a real big and confusing map to land on if you've never seen it before - and it may take sampa-noobs too long to learn during this short week to warrant their vote at the end of it. It is also a map where it is mandatory to have big teams - you can forget playing it with anything less than about 6 per side.

Hope the feedback helps though.....

Sampa requires as TL says many ppl on each side. As I see it we have too few maps that are this big. We usually get 8-10 ppl on each side on a normal night, so there is a need for larger maps. I think both Sampa and Bitterwine handles that amount of players. They are fun to play too. And sampa isn't that hard to find your way around on. Sure I give u that the map is big but the structure is quite easy to remember.

When I played drugwar on N42, CT usually won. The only thing I don't like about the map is the possibility to camp out the hossie rooms in the basement. But on the other hand there are standard maps that are equally tough (e.g. assault, siege).

Intercept is a more balanced assault map than the original. I hope you have figured out that you can break the glass (not roof) to the hostage room with a grenade but not with bullets.

I was a bit surprised when I read TLs comment regarding france. This map usually plays very evenly.

Volare is an interesing map that makes it possible for cunning tactics from both teams.

Remember folks. All maps doesn't work for say 4 vs 4 or 10 vs 10. We need both small, medium and large maps to handle different amount of players. If we are many ppl on the server I think we shold stick to the larger maps (and vice versa) and don't hold on so tightly to the rotation.

I agree.

Yep, I confirmed this to the CT team at the end of round 1 when the question was asked as to how to break the glass    We tried throwing Albert at it, but it didn't work

That's where I was coming from as well.  We need a range of maps to meet the range of playing standards and team sizes that we encounter on MH.  Non-standard rotation is something that Admins can pick up and discuss as they would be the ones having to run it and justify it.

I didn't get to play anything very much as everyone had buggered off at 9.30  :(

Yee of little faith - we arrived back from the aborted UKCSL4U league match at about 9.30pm and stayed on the server until about 11.00pm  :D   On a Sunday, Monday or Wednesday evening if the server is empty-ish then it's probably because there is match on.  Just kick back, relax and wait for us all to return.....

cs_drugwar - Looks lovely and plays great to. I love the idea of so many variations for the CT's to get to the house. As a T it was a tense experience to say the least, waiting for the CT's to appear. If you guess right you can intercept them and do a lot of damage. I got three in one go and on tonights performance that was nothing short of a miracle for me. Of course it's almots impossible to cover every spot and the excellent camera work proved that, as with Assault, covering the cameras can turn a map.

cs_france I didn't play it for long (ariving part way through) but it was one of those nothing maps. Nothing much wrong with it but nothing much right.  T's can just squat down in the hotel and control things. Unlike Italy which entices CT's to find away in, France is just frustrating. Not a fan sorry.

de_volare - Liked this map alot. Looks stunning and can offer crazy firefights on the bomb sites, or long range stand offs down the passages. I get the impression it might play like a dark Aztec. Also seems good for big teams as it's large enough to allow teams to split into groups and cover/attack as squads. Plus I was able to have a bit of fun with my Sg550 down by the waterfall.

de_bitterwine. a big map that I think would play best as a 10v10+. Lots of options for combined simultanious rushes on the bomb sites from above and below. Probably crap as a 4v4. You'd just spend ages finding each other, as with Storm. Apart from falling in the swimming pool it was a great map. Keep it for the big 10v10 plus games.

de_sampa. Doesn't really work with PCS rules. Most of the map is off limits to the CT's and they simply camp it out in the control room and below the green stairs. Large areas of the map therefore seem just for T's to traverse. Without 'PCS map rules' it might play OK with a big teams that are free to roam. With 'PCS map rules' it shrinks to a fairly small map and therefore isn't much fun.

Ah, the thankless task of putting new maps up, did you not learn last time Sadako?!

drugwar - like it alot, needs a co-ordinated attack and a certain level of non-cheez play by the T's to not camp the hossies, (plus I like hiding in the cupboard at the bottom of the stairs :)

volare - love it, open spaces, winding passages, good stuff, now if I could only get scopes to work as a 'T' I'd be laughing..

can't remeber name -de_Train/Bus_Depot_map_with_Campervan(Edit:  That'll be de_sampa then.  TL.  8) ) Long approach, but I think it lends itself to some good play, multiple routes make it hard to defend, but there are plenty of hidey holes to find.
(Apart from the whoever ran over my foot last night and killed me)

EDIT:
There are views on a lot of the maps on N42 if you want more opinions

Prolly to late but bahrain, balkanconflict both lend themselves to PCS, can't remeber the reason balkanconflict was pulled though....I'm sure the resident intellectual will remind me (Sadako?)

cs_france played MUCH MUCH better last night.  It turned out to be quite a well balanced match at the end of the map.  My opinion of it went up a lot from the first post.

Who nicked the damn swimming pool eh?  I have my swimming trunks, towel and gogles at the ready - but WHERE's THE DAMN POOL?

When I find out who took it I'll bust their nuts from here to Clapham Common and back  :x

It was that large body of water down by the terrorist spawn point. It was a swimming pool wasn't it? Did I fall in a POND!

France. Good. Ah lak it a lot.
Volare. On balance, nah. On the other hand, yeah
Bitterwine. Jury's out. Bit like that other map I always get lost on, whos name I forget.  :(
Sampa.  Lot of wasted scenery. CTs only get to see the inside of a bus station
Intercept. Nice. Having only played it as a T, it was claustraphobic. Be nice to get out into the fresh air as a CT

Hope that helps. :D
