I'm running F@H as a service on my home pc using the above files and installer stuff (and yes, it does say "jamena" in the config file ;) ) and f@hcore_65 seems to be at 99%cpu most of the time but I am not convinced it's adding to my folding total - are we able to check progress with it? I can't find any log files or likely WP data anywhere... unless the wp data is getting shoved onto my C: rather than into the folder where I put the new fah thingy :unsure:

Did you use the dual or the single file of the download? At home you usually need the single file (unless you've got a server running).

In the folder that you're running the .exe from you should find the following file - FAHlog.txt , open it up and you should see your progress.

there are no new files in the F@H directory where I installed the dMw package. no .txt files, nothing other than the original ones from the zip Tealeaf posted. Oh, and I did use the "single" version...

Is it possible the dMw F@H pack puts the log and data in another folder/drive on my pc?

I think you have the wrong idea about the dual and single versions of this file. The single version is if your pc/server etc has 1 cpu. The dual version is if your pc/server etc has 2 cpu's. It matters not if they are networked connected to a server or whatever it goes on the number of cpus in a system. Hope this helps clear it up.

grrrr...

having issues with that services thing. For one thing it installs to c:\program files\fah\ so if you were hoping it'd install where your old f@H install was you'll be disappointed.

Secondly, it refuses to accept a username and/or teamnumber. It's installing as username unknown and team unknown. I have tried getting rid of it and reinstalling following Tealeafs instructions but using a read-only config file but it still doesn't seem to recognise the config. If left as non-read-only it overwrites the config file with the following:
[settings]
machineid=1

[http]
active=no

...and that's it...

 :eyebrow:

N.B. the fah config file contained little rectangles instead of newlines (i.e. notepad wasn't recognising the newline character that F@H was using, so I have tried altering the config file to read-only and used the little rectangular things instead of newlines. Looking at the log I think it has finally worked, though I did still plough a good weeks worth of folding into the unknown bin... :huh:
