It's a game and it's..........almost cs

Hostile Intent Half life mod still in the making as I understand. Interesting in several ways.
1: You must bring your weapon to bear before it fires.
2: If you get shot you die! None of this 'running around like a spring chicken with 1 hp!
3: You don't run around a 100mph. You walk unless you hold down a key to run.
4: You can go prone!
5: No HUD. No need for health status as 3 0r 4 9mm slugs in you will kill you. You cant see how much ammo left and opponents names do not conveniently pop up in front of you.
I reckon it's a cross between Counter Strike and Raven Shield. It's a 117mb d/l and installs into your Steam folder.
Worth investigating if nothing else.

It looks nice, keep us posted. I'd like to give it a go sometime.
It's probably very hard to play and change from CS to Hostile Intent. Maybe it's good to play it for a while and the play CS a bit as your more prepared for the unexpected and are alert all the time

sounds andnlooks really interesting, ill put this on download tonight and hopefully checkout it out over weekend.

i lke the idea of no health and ammo counter and dieing after a few shots.

Bleed to death sort of features would be cool. Leaving trails of blood.

can't get it to bind any keys - and yes the config.cfg is not read only

any ideas?

Soerted. Delete config.cfg and restart the game (it ctreates another one which it lets you edit).

Now, how do i copy my RZE settings across anyone?

It's been out for ages, and had major problems on release that I think they never really sorted out owing to half the team leaving. It's a good idea, but failed in the execution. Also, sadly people want fragfests not realism so good luck finding (a) a server and (b) a numpty-free one.

A real shame really - I'd been looking forward to it for almost 2 years before its release (it had delay upon delay, most of them due to the lead programmer being in the army and havig to go off to, like, fight and stuff).

Besides, coop Raven Shield beats it hands-down.

I have had a look. The main problem I have with it, is that you have to take aim before you shoot. may be just a major accuracy penalty would have been better. so you could still shoot from the hip. but I'll be up for a game if one is planned, to give it a proper run out
