It's a 3-D RPG that uses all the official Dungeons & Dragons rules or something. There is about 40 hrs gameplay if you know what you're doing and where you're going, which sounds a lot until you remember Baldurs Gate was about 400hrs or something. As a single player game it's fine if you like RPG and being a 24th level Elven Mage or something. Unlike traditional RPG you cannot build up a party of friends to go Troll bashing. This is because the game is primarily designed for multiplayer, where a Dungeon Master builds an err dungeon and whatnot for his or her pals to wander around. It's standard RPG stuff. You start out as a puny squit. The go and do some  simple quests, get skill points and cash, buy better weapons and level up, do harder quests get more skill and more cash, and so on and so on until the game ends. Basically it's tedious rubbish. However if you like Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Dungeon Seige etc you'll enjoy this, if only for a short while.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

I've stopped playing it for now. It's fun for a few weeks then it does start to slow down a bit. The story is ok.

Now most of my time is either GTA, Vice City (Game of all time, IMHO) and Earth and Beyond. See my other thread in this forum about this.

I liked NWN nights, but it has bugs.......

I.e I reached level 20 with my dwarf barbarian (yes EVERYONE hated me) and when ever i try to join a game it tells me i have too many feats :( Kinda killed the game for me.

I'm not sure about this, and stand to be fully corrected, but I thought the multiplayer element was more of a connect up with half a dozen people you know, rather than jump on a standard server a la' CS.

The game duplicates the old desk top paper based dungeons & dragons game, where one player is required to create/steal/borrow a map and set the other players of on a quest. It would seem that a fair bit of preparation is required or have I got no clue?

On an aside I did have a bash as Morrowind. I's a first person RPG that is completely non linear and freeform. You get to wander where you will and quest where you want. While there is a main thread of quests leading to the huge finale' you can just bugger about making potions and the like. My brother simply wanders around dungeons finding scrap metal and makes armour that he sells to shops......strange boy !
