Need to test spawn points - it looked to me like there were only 7 in CT spawn (and presumably the same is true for the Ts), leading to worldspawn deaths on round start.

Yep we think this is a confirmed problem  We could not spawn more than 13 last night but there may be 14 spawn points, it was difficult to decide as one perosn seemed to have chosen the team but not skin so was not using up a spawn point.  Pity as the games we have had on it have been superb so far.......

Yeh i noticed this last night .....When we have a full server we must bounce the map on :(

The server doesn't need to be full - you could wither shove a load of bots on there or have someone in spec mode count the places where people spawn (with screenies if necessary) - not an interesting job, but as good a way to count spawn points as any.

Is it not possible that one of you brainy types can't edit the map to increase the amount of spawn points? as far as im aware it only needs to be changed server side.

It is a 14 person map.  I am investigating the adding of spawn points as I know it has been done for some other maps by one of the Californian CS communities.

May I also recommend De_Sunny from the same site. again it probably has limited spawn points as it is a map designed for the esl. have played it a few times and its a really nice small map.

Interesting, I have just been playing around with editing the spawn points in de_contra and it appears that it already has 16 T spawn points and 16 CT spawn points, i.e. it is a 32-spawn point map!  Clearly some of these spawn points are invalid so I'll play aorund with them and see what I can come up with.  Re Rizzy's comments, yes the changed file only needs to be server side.

Yep there are definitely problems with the spawn points.  I just filled up the map with me and 15 bots on CT (i.e. 16 CTs in total so it is definitely a 32 player map) and a bunch of CTs died at at worldspawn.  Quite handy really as the fallen bodies tell me which spawn points are knackered!  Now to try and edit them.  I may be some time......

As you add players to the map some of the spawn points overlap.  Hence depending on whether you have two players spawning in overlapping spawnpoints you may or may not die from round to round.  When you load 16 players onto the CT side for example only 4 will survive worldspawn as the rest kill each other!

What about de_salt2 from the same guy who made de_contra  :dribble:

I have downloaded both sunny and salt2 and will take a look at them.  If they look good then I will put them onto the CZ servers to try try out.  

Re de_contra, I have edited the CT spawn points and will do the T spawn points after a nice cup'o'tea.  It's been a bit of a PITA as the first package I used to play around with them didn't edit the ent file properly, but the one I am using now seems to work fine.  I will get the amended file up to the server hopefully later tonight.

Do modified entities mean we'll need to re-download the map? I can never remember if it does or doesn't.
