I consider this vote clozed. ;)

A wording will be drafted and issued in due course after OB and I have discussed tactics.

Next steps ...

I propose a BIG BANG cutover to CZ with a completion date of Sat 8th Jan 2005. That's this coming weekend.

Why the rush? Why not? By forcing the issue early we can get members to update their availability knowing we're only playing CZ matches and let's face it, no one's interested in CS1.6 so why delay? This is the new broom, the kick up the TANGO the membership needs to get excited about playing on the servers again.

Server changes:

'The MeatHook' (27015) will become our main password-protected TCS CZ server.
Homer (27016) will become our second password-protected TCS CZ server.
Baldric (27017) will become our CZ match server.
Razer (27018) will be our public CZ server loaded with stats and as many bells and whistles you can shake a stick at.

Boomer (27019) will be shutdown until VALVe fix the memory leak which results in servers grinding to a halt if not rebooted every couple of days. <_<

A note about Razer. TeaLeaf and I are in agreement that all Bravos and Charlies *must* play in TCS style on our public server. It makes little sense to advertise dMw as a badge of teamwork only for our guests to be treated to the sight of a bunch of members running around as fragwhores. I will also be attempting to tailor the stats to reward teamplay. Limited admin rights will also be handed to a selected group. We must make an effort to use our public server as much as possible but it's essential that we move over to our community servers sometime before 9pm. This will keep the TCS community playing and, hopefully, will also entice those guests we leave behind to sign up to continue the action.

Good call. I don't agree with you regarding enforcing TCS on the public servers but I will support it as you think it is the way to go.

I don't see how we can afford NOT to enforce TCS on the public servers. The aim is to show people our style of play and that is why we are all here after all.

As the servers are a cost to our community I don't see why we should pay to offer people yet another public server, there are hundreds out there already. I have no problem paying to show people how TCS is played and I hope it will attract more good people :)

I just want to clarify that the option of choice was what I was after. I can choose to play TCS even if there isn't a rule. 90% of the time I play TCS on the BoD servers as well. I think a recommendation instead of a "you must" is a better way to go.

//Me checks which forum I'm in - ah, Admin. Good!

OK I guess it's to cater for people like DA etc who will use any excuse to avoid playing in a TCS style. If we enforce it he can't do it :)

Good work! CS.1.6 R.I.P. It was a good servant who's time had come. Let's hope that CS:Source grows up to be as good. In the meantime CZ deserves all our support. I must say I'm cheered by the 'must play TCS' aspect. Unfortunately, this will mean you'll see me on the servers more.

   There's a 't' in unfortunately.
