Not for nothing, but stats are evil. When the game becomes about who you're better than it becomes much less fun, especially when it gets competitive.

what he said ^^^^^

Im against it. Not needed.

Benny

I'm with Red, burn the stats thing it's a bad move ™

Burn the witch!

I'm not too worried as I don't have any stats anyway :(

RizZy

I quite like having the stats on the server, gives me something personally to work towards while I'm playing.

I think if your that way inclined that you play to try & beat other people all the time, stats wont make that much of a differance, if there not the your just gonna look at the scoreboard all the time instead.

I find trying not to die in first 30 seconds of a round tends to keep me fairly focussed  <_<

And if anyone needs something to work towards when playing then there is always the objective ;)

Maus

Well, I used to play the Natural Selection on a fery nice server with decent people, and then stats were introduced and everyone got all bitchy and competitive. It reached a point where if you weren't playing well you were too worried about what your performance was doing to your stats than what you needed to do in-game. It was one of the main contributors to me leaving that community.

The "best score" glowy letters thing at the end of a round is okay, but this other stats stuff is a tad too far - it encourages people to concentrate on personal performance, instead of working as a team.

JB

Personally i'd like to see the 'best performer' type glowy writing done away with but the 'you hit such and such person 3 times' kept, that does help when trying to improve performance but I feel doesnt detract from a TCS style of play.

EDIT: Oh and /rank /stats removed, it's for lam0rs. Anyway you all know i'd be number 1. :P

It's fine - it is nice to be able to give yourself a pat on the back after seeing your name there. So long as there's no "Best player: abc. Worst player: xyz" there's nothing wrong with it. I remember playing on servers with the "least effective" player getting shown up that way, and it wasn't very nice.

Phog

Im 15th on the server. I rarely even play there so i dont understand how i got 250 kills  :eyebrow: Im a MH man.
/Sign for getting rid of the stats tbh
