Dear GM,

Yesterday evening, after a couple of hours of good TCS I thought that before I turned in for the night I would put my character up for overnight trading in Moradon and just leave it to accumulate money as usual.  This morning I was moderately pleased with what sold, but definitely annoyed at having been killed by an Orc Watcher in Moradon itself and losing the massive number of accompanying EXP points.

Are these news attacks on the towns on some kind of schedule or is it something that AFK traders are just going to have to live (and die) with?

Annoyed of Milton Keynes,

I had that a couple of times allready aswell.
Checking my comp....bugger...dead....
There goes 50000 EXP.
1 thing, put your stand inside the village, not near the gate.
I think they do have some kind of schedule for it but couldn't find it anywhere.

I have a different thought on this...
I believe it is people who attack something and then run away, drawing it into the town as they can't and dont know how to kill it or what to do, so they run to safety :) the town, those who are happily at the gate, minding own business, away from pc, get attacked by the beast they bring...
I might be very wrong though, so no quotes please.

TRAIN!!!!!!!!

those were one of the fun things i remeber in EQ (unless u died).

You would attack a monster, but his buddies would join in, so u would run away.  To make things worse on the way back, new monsters would have respawned and would agro on you. The result would be a low level warrior running for the level zone screaming "TRAIN",  with all the areas monsters in Tow.

If you heard someone screaming TRAIN, you would run aswell, becuase the mosters would often give up and attack the nearest Player/Group.

Its amusing to watch from a distance, but not if u get cuaght up in it.

Ì think I'll try it aswell then....

No it is an event created by admins. I have been in Moradon twice  when the extremely large creatures attack. Trust me they are not drawn in by ppl from outside of Moradon. These creatures are about 40 feet tall ...
If you put up your trade spot far back on the upper level you will maybe survive. I guess the admins need to have their fun as well.

You dont loose any XP if killed by an event monster.....I too have seen people lure monsters into the market place .....Acording to the site the gaurds should take care of them if they try to enter the gates :(

Ill just add .......an event monster did make it into Pianar yesterday :o

Wrong thread I know, but my screen is currently mis-sized and I cannot see or get to the 'New Post' button as it is off the screen. :(

Does anyone else have this problem with KOL - when you ALT-TAB out of the game to something else your screen resolution is still set to the ingame resolution and this borks up reading the forums and doing other things.  Any solution to this?

As an aside, I did try to up the resoution at one stage, but all of my buttons and tool bars disappeared so I whacked it back down to the default which is 800x600 I believe.

Anyone?

Sliding is what u do when using the speed thing basically the idea is you run in, hit the monstor and peg it away again before he can hit you.
In effect running through the monster, hitting him with a skill (not a normal attack), getting out of range, executing a 180 degree turn and repeating the process. Seems to work for me :D

TL, could always play KO in a "window"? Its how i play it, yes means turning round with mouse is a little agro but i didn't care.

I've actually got fed up of the extremely bad lag, also my time and mental state has gone down again. Sad to say but i'm very unhappy at the moment, so am not playing at all.

Perhaps WoW when i get back from Canada but otherwise, nothing at the moment.

Speak to all soon.

1 time I got invited in to a party, I did a fes beast some harm and 1 really good, got 3000 EXP.
Essexgirl told me she had nicked a treasure once of them because she was nearest to it.

For the rest, hopefully when we have a good party we can kick it's buttocks..
