Lo peeple,

As you've probably guessed by my ping on the servers, I am running on 64k ISDN. This is not because I'm old and fiscally tight (which I am happy to be), it means I can't get BB where I live, three miles from the nearest exchange.

I've beeen thinking about getting Sat. BB for a while, but is it worth the expense?
Will it improve latency/ping/fps, etc?

Please lets have your thoughts

Many Sat broadband solutions are asymetric, Satellite down but dial up outbound <- BAD for gaming!

From what I've read about Satalite connections & gaming its not good, you get good downloads & browsing expirience but due to the nature of your upload destination you get all sorts of loss & choke type problems in games, I got nothing I can show you to back this up, it's just what I remember from reading about it before.

BAD for gaming!---this is the bit I did'nt really want to hear.

Since posting, I've done a little research on Sat BB companies, none recommend it for gaming, in fact, they all, bar 1, recommend against!

Thanks anyway BB and Rizzy

From how I understand it, basically you can get a high bandwidth/speed, but your signal takes a long time to transmit around everywhere. In gamer terms, fast downloads, but high pings (as in, over a second, probably).
