UKCSL Season 5

I suspect it's caused by the fact that CZ owners automatically got newer CS1.6 models which the server is seeing as 'custom'.

I'm installing original models to check this.

Description
============
These are the original CS 1.6 models. If you are using CZ models or
other custom models, then you will need to install these models in
order to play on UKCSL Soundcheck enabled servers.


Installation
=============
In the .zip archive there are a bunch of model folders. Place these
in the following folder:

 ..\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\counter-strike\cstrike\models\player

Create the folder if it does not exist. If there are already model
folders there, then it is recommended that you back them up prior to
installing these models.

Well, I am not using or have used any custom models. I have a clean install.  <_<

Your models were updated by CZ.

I installed the original model and connected OK first time. The ssClient console showed that 2 screenshots were taken and uploaded to the UKCSL server OK. I didn't notice any lag.

So to recap ...

Download the ssClient.

If you have CZ installed then Download CS1.6 models

Run the client and double click the UKCSL entry (no configuration changes are necessary).

Connect to the server (any UKCSL server).

OK, that seems to have fixed it but jeezus how many people has it taken to sort that out? They need to post better instructions rather than run the client and connect  <_<

Oh, and the ssClient forums don't work under Firefox  Well they do if you are happy with a 50 pixel high view of the forum

BTW, you don't need to put path to your HL.exe into the ssClient if you have downloaded the CS models. Just connect through server browser as normal once ssClient is running. <- maybe stating the obvious but I thought I would clarify

download cs1.6 models,
install models,
run client,
double click the 1 server in the client list to connect to their auth server,
open your steam server browser,
add the test server mentioned on the UKCSL website,
connect to it from Steam server browser

voila
