overcockers?

Had my first experience of overclockers and heres how it went.

Last weekend my PC died, motherboard issue I think.  Sooo I decided it was time for an upgrade and ordered the following last sunday.

AV8 3rd eye motherboard
AMD64 3ghz cpu
450 watt psu
sata 160gb drive
nice keyboard
alaska cold cathode

Tuesday came and no hardware.  Calling them prooved fruitless the phones remained unanswered so I used their web form.

It was then they told me the alaska cold cathode was out of stock, do I want to drop the the light off the order.  "well" says I, "it would of been nice to of been told that on monday as my kit is to repair a broken pc..... please do drop the cathode".  I later received a reply saying they had found some so my order was on its way.

Sure enough I got my stuff on wednesday.  Problems.... my PSU had a bit of broken plastic in it, and the motherboard had clearly been opened before, also it was missing the manual and driver cd and guru clock!

Phoneing them was fruitless as usual so more web forms later they appologised for the error and said the missing bits were in the post that day!

Guess what?  friday and I still have not got my missing bits!  Not only that, I traced the parcel and found it was only sent off today (friday) and will not arrive till monday.

So all in all?  I know things can sometimes go wrong, however its how the company deals with things when stuff goes wrong that counts...... overclocks seem very un-proffesional and somewhat PANTS.

I've used overclockers 5 or 6 times, and only had problems with them once.

They shipped me a duff Geforce 6800LE.  I sent it back to them and requested a Radeon 9800 Pro instead.  To my dismay my top 3 choice brands of 9800 were ALL out of stock!!!  So I had to settle for a connect 3D one which I didn't particularly want.

That aside all my other transactions have been smooth and fast.

Got my missing bits come through the post today.  Seems they had put it on a saturday delivery.  Nice of them, makes sense as I'd previously bitched about having someone camp in my house for a delivery that never came.

Again, a lack of communication marred it, would of been nice if I'd been told it was coming this saturday.

I agree, they are pretty good, they just need to keep the customer informed.
